Oooh... I certainly approve of this idea. The low stats really are FF6's weakpoint.

Considering that she had the magic growth to hit her cap of 30, I'm not surprised. Everything else is just gravy.

I just checked on Serenes Forest; the Flametongue pushed Nils/Ninian's Strength, Skill, Defense, and Resistance to their caps. Should I count that for Roy, since he is technically part dragon?
And I'm also wondering if I should be lame and take the stats my other, non-parent characters capped and boost some of the completely new characters. |

Finished checking up how many of my other characters had capped stats. In total, there are 6 +2 Strength bonuses, 4 +2 Skill bonuses, 5 +2 Speed bonuses, 1 +2 Defense bonus, no Resistance bonuses and 1 +2 Luck bonus.
Who will get these bonuses? I'm leaving it up to you guys. And for eternaljwh, this time the nonstandard classes are King and Dark Dragon. Dark Dragon is reserved for Lalum, and King is reserved for Gonzales. As for the "heartless puppet" thing, Lloyd and Linus already had an A Support before death. They didn't lose it. Besides, the Canas-Renault A Support and Limstella's death quote suggest that Nergal is wrong; morphs have souls. |

My votes:
Tate (2 Str, 1 Spd) Oujay (1 Str, 1 Skill, 1 Spd, 1 Luck) Wendy (2 Str, 1 Skill, 1 Spd) Geese (1 Str, 1 Skill) Sophia (2 Spd, 1 Skill, 1 Def) Alternatively: let's give Merlinus all of the bonuses. >:D |

Oh, hey. What happens if you change Merlinus's class? Or change someone to Transporter? (Not that you should, if it removes their attacks...)

I'm not actually sure if I can change Merlinus' class; he seems to exist in an entirely different slot.
As for what would happen if I changed a unit to Transporter, they'd become useless. |

Who's the third most useless character in this game (after Merlinus and Marcus)?
|
#314

Eh... Zealot I guess. Maybe Yuno.
|
#315
|
|||
|

Definitely Zealot.
He has stats and growths on par with Marcus, and he joins during one of the most difficult chapters in the game. Worse yet, he joins as an NPC during that chapter, so there's a high chance he'll run off and get murdered by a WyvernRider before you can even talk to him with Roy. |

I'm not all that familiar with this game, despite reading the LP way back when. I like the idea of inherited stat boosts. Also inherited classes, though that may require you pointing out who's related to whom.
Alan: Nomad! He needs to follow in Kent's footsteps. Wolt: I guess this is Rebecca's kid? So let's make him a Mage. Lance: Clearly he still needs to wield a lance. How about Dragon Knight? I assume that's the wyvern rider equivalent. Bors: I hate his face. Make him a Pirate. |

Sorry Elfir, I started playing before you posted. Anyways, first things first, FE6’s Hard Mode does not fuck around.
This is the boss on Normal mode. This is the boss on Hard mode. FE6’s enemies have much more significant Hard Mode bonuses than FE7’s, and it still has its incredibly terrible playable characters. So all of those super stat boosts you guys were giving me weren’t setting me up to break the game. They’re only kind of evening the odds. This is the first chapter of the game, so of course it’s pretty easy. Or at least it should be, but like I said, all the enemies have significant Hard Mode bonuses. Yeah, I don’t think being a pure lance user is going to work out here. Marcus was already essential in FE6 Hard for being just strong enough to cripple enemies safely, but now he’s my healer, so he’s even more important. He needs a Mend staff to be able to effectively heal things though. Bors appears to have become a Super Saiyan. And as a final note, Roy is completely unstoppable. Are you fucking serious? *loads state* Quote:

At least the boss will be easy. Chapter 35: The Princess of Bern (HP: 100%, Str: 0%, Skl: 50%, Spd: 50%, Lck: 100%, Def: 20%, Res: 5%) I’m not letting you guys change Merlinus’ class, but I’d like to point out I kept his stats from FE7. This is the guy you have to thank for those extra +2 Speed, Skill, and Luck bonuses. (HP: 45%, Str: 50%, Skl: 30%, Spd: 20%, Lck: 70%, Def: 5%, Res: 60%) Man, when was the last time I even used Ellen after I got Clarine? (HP: 75%, Str: 50%, Skl: 45%, Spd: 20%, Lck: 45%, Def: 50%, Res: 5%) Ward does not even come close to living up to the legacy of BARTRE THE BRAVE. (HP: 80%, Str: 30%, Skl: 30%, Spd: 35%, Lck: 30%, Def: 40%, Res: 15%) In FE7, those growths would only be on a prepromote. In FE6, those growths count as balanced. (HP: 90%, Str: 40%, Skl: 40%, Spd: 30%, Lck: 35%, Def: 20%, Res: 15%) Dieck has always turned out awesome for me, so I’m interested in seeing what he could become when I manipulate the RNG. (HP: 45%, Str: 30%, Skl: 55%, Spd: 60%, Lck: 60%, Def: 10%, Res: 25%) And here’s the first of Roy’s many wives. Note that Thany is going to be on the final team no matter what, so choose what she’ll be carefully. She might also benefit from the pool of stat bonuses I still have. Quote:

Thany: She looks so much like Sailor Mercury I kind of want to make her a spellcaster. I imagine the horse-to-nonhorse rule is still in effect so I guess Troubadour? Priest if it'd work though. If it's too hard to keep her level in line as a healer I guess Cavalier wouldn't be too bad.
Ellen: Wow that Str is going to be painful but we need an Archer! Dieck: If he's gonna be awesome anyway, I say Myrmidon because I fangirl for Myrmidons. I ran out of ideas for the other guys. |

OK, I played the next chapter on Normal, but I can't imagine it'd be *significantly* harder on Hard. Then again, this is FE6, I've only played Hard Mode on FE7 and 9. At least you've got Dieck, he's pretty boss.
So classes. Ellen- Shaman, so she could actually be useful since all of the real shamans will get class swapped to something worse. Ward- Bandit, because he couldn't live up to the legacy of Barter The Brave (although he'll never live up to Geese, or whoever the real bandit is) Lot- Knight? I dunno, can't really think of anything better. Dieck- Archer, his stat growths are so awesome for this game, and archers usually don't have amazing growths, so it'd be interesting to see how useful an archer could be. Thany- Myrmidon |

Thany: Troubadour sounds like a good class to me.
Ellen: Shaman - that Mag, Luck and Res makes her the perfect choice for a magic tank, especially once we get her a tome of Resire Nosferatu. The only downside is she's s l o w, but thankfully there's a surplus of mages for her to have the advantage against, and a complete lack of monks to give her any trouble. Wade: Knight. Lot: Also Knight. I think I'm confident in making that the go-to class for terrible characters. Dieck: Definitely make him an Archer, just so the other characters don't have to compete with him for any of the better classes. |

This update really should have been up like two hours ago, but I kind of got caught up in Kirby’s Epic Yarn. Sorry.
Nothing special here. Quote:
The most notable Hard Mode enemy bonus is HP; all the enemies get like +8 to 10. This is bad for obvious reasons, but it also means I can get more experience overall. It evens out, I guess. Anyways, Ellen may have shit for a base Magic stat, but she’s using a Flux tome and the enemies also have shit for Resistance. This pumps up her damage output To less than Wolt’s. Hell, less than everybody else but Bors. And not even that if she can’t double. Every enemy on this map but the Soldiers and the boss have enough Speed that Ellen (who‘s being weighed down by her Flux tome) can’t double them. What I’m trying to say here is that Ellen really sucks, and considering that the final team is already mostly decided, she‘s really not worth the time it would take to raise her. Quote:
Anyways, on Turn 2 these guys show up. By the way, I can’t believe you guys voted for Ward and Lot to be the same classes as Bartre and Dorcas. They may fill the same roles, but they’re different people! Try to be a little more original. Quote:
Oh, and I did what the game should have done in the first place and gave Dieck’s mercenaries Supports with each other. Thany’s existence means I no longer have to use Marcus. Hooray. oh hey the mercenary now has enough speed to double ward with an iron blade. and he just got hit with a javelin and died yay. *loads state* Quote:
and even if he dodges the soldier this archer that lot failed to kill just kills him anyways fuck. *resets chapter and does the entire hacking process again* (Ward ended up getting the same level up. It was kind of creepy.) Something seems off about Thany, but I just can’t put my finger on it… Quote:

Rude’s defense is going to be a problem, especially since Ellen and Wolt are still catching up with the main party. Good thing Armorslayers have the x3 damage effect in this game! what. *loads state* That’s better. Chapter 36: Late Arrival So I’d like to point out that while Roy was traveling to Castle Araphen, Hector was battling against Bern’s entire invading force. That would mean he was up against Narshen, Brenya, a bunch of Wyvern Riders, the enemies of Chapter 36, and maybe even some War Dragons. Hector successfully held out until right before Roy came. (HP: 85%, Str: 50%, Skl: 50%, Spd: 80%, Lck: 60%, Def: 25%, Res: 15%) Chad has phenomenal growths (they‘re actually better than Nino‘s, I think), but that’s because he’s normally stuck in the Thief class. I wonder how well he’d do outside of it… (HP: 50%, Str: 40%, Skl: 50%, Spd: 50%, Lck: 35%, Def: 15%, Res: 30%) Lugh is also pretty great. Hell, his growths actually resemble something you’d see on a FE7 character. I also intend to do the next chapter as well, so you guys can also vote for (HP: 40%, Str: 30%, Skl: 40%, Spd: 50%, Lck: 65%, Def: 10%, Res: 40%) Clarine, who’s honestly pretty bad, but still better than Ellen, (HP: 80%, Str: 30%, Skl: 60%, Spd: 50%, Lck: 30%, Def: 20%, Res: 20%) And Rutger, who’s benefiting off of his Hard Mode bonuses so much it isn’t even funny. Y'see, while her HP and Mag are low enough she can't function as a straight-up attacker like the other Mages can, her Spd and Luck growths are so high to make up for it that she's the single best enemy lure in FE6. She averages about 20 Spd and Luck after promotion, which translates to about whopping 60% Avoid, knocking the average enemy's accuracy below the True Hit bell curve and tilting things even further in your favour. Even better, her Thunder affinity and Klein's Ice affinity means she can boost her evasion even higher by adding a 15% modifier on top of that, for an average total of 75% Avoid plus whatever the game factors in thanks to the True Hit. (EDIT: You can even pair her with Rutger, Dieck or Lance instead of Klein - every single one of her supports boosts her evasion in some way. All of those supports together at once? She'll be unstoppable.) Long story short, a well trained Clarine will never have to worry about taking damage ever again, which means she can not only tank hits fantastically well, but can even use her 8 Move to lure any enemies following her into the loving embrace of, say, a supported Gonzales and Lilina - provided she isn't killing WyvernRiders with Aircalibur, of course. Training her isn't even that much of a problem, since you can level her up quickly while arena abusing other characters (see also: Saul hitting level 20/20 in my LP) or even just from all the damage you can soak up on Hard Mode. But anyway, I digress. I vote for the following classes: Chad: I say we make him... hmm. A Pirate, maybe? Lugh: Meanwhile, Lugh here can be an Archer, just like her mother! Clarine: Getting rid of her access to Aircalibur seems like a shame, so let's make her a Mage. It should make it easier to raise her as well, since she'll be directly contributing in combat. Actually, scratch that - her being a staff user is actually a blessing in disguise as it allows her to build up her Spd and Luck stats without having to risk her life while she's at it (as well as making it easier to RNG abuse her level ups, since 99% of them will be during your own phase). As such, I vote to make her a Cleric and promote her into a Sage by the time she's ready to promote. Rutger: He's powerful from the word "go", so it'd be a shame to give him a class that lets those growths go to waste. As such, I say we make him a Shaman, to see if double Nosferatus is as overwhelming as I imagine it being (which it probably is, considering how much of a badass he was during the SoS LP). I know we kind of discussed the idea a bit when we were deciding for Bartre, but I'm not going to let characters promote to a different class. Got to have some consistency, after all.
As for Clarine being good... I've honestly never tried having a character be a lure, as it's never really worked out for me. I'll keep it in mind though. EDIT: The party's already going to be filled with Roy's Supports, so I'm not sure if I can also fit Clarine's in there. Still, I don't remember how many units you can bring into the final chapters, so who knows? Also, what did I just say about having characters of the same role becoming the same class?
