After I'd gone to bed it occurred to me we could have made Guy a pegasus knight since his sprite is change-proof, but it's probably not worth trying to get the delta attack nonsense possible.

Hector’s version of this chapter has a lot more enemies using Lances. In particular, there are the five guys standing behind me, the line of Soldiers on the way to the castle, and the constantly spawning Pegasus Knights at the bottom of the map. Even in Eliwood’s mode, the real difficulty in this map comes from trying to save Erk so he can recruit Priscilla (you can recruit Priscilla with anyone, but I always do it with Erk because I’m crazy like that) and dealing with the initial enemy assault. Once you do that, the map turns into a short jaunt to the castle in order to kick Erik’s face in. Unless it’s raining that is. Still, priority is to get rid of these jokers before they kill Merlinus. Quote:
I’d say that Energy Ring was a good idea. Matthew is now useless. Er… I guess I’ll meet their charge. Remember how I said all of the people who were in Lyn’s Tale had their inventories reset? This is a really bad thing. I probably could have gotten this done by Turn 3 if Erk hadn’t decided to be an idiot and move towards the castle. Quote:
Is this rain ever going to stop? (It stopped the next turn). |

By the time Erk finally got here, there was only one enemy left. Because Tanto wasn’t insane enough to do this, I’ll transcribe the special dialogue. Quote:
The after chapter dialogue has a new addition in Hector’s Tale. In between the segment where Eliwood runs away and the segment where Hector finds him… Quote:
Quote:
Chapter 15: Talons Alight Hector and his companions defeat Marquess Laus’s son, Erik, and seize Castle Laus. After the battle, they rest in the castle and settle their affairs. They diligently prepare for any possible counterattack. They should’ve spotted anyone attempting to approach the castle. And yet, somehow, they find themselves facing an unforeseen attack.. Here’s one of the major differences between Hector’s Tale and Eliwood’s; while Eliwood’s Chapter 15 is Noble Lady of Caelin, Hector’s is the brand new Talons Alight. Quote:

This is another seven turn survival mission, but once again you’re better off going straight for the boss and the chests. Just make sure to stay the hell away from the walls; there are tons of long range units, and the (moving!) boss has a Longbow. Also, keep your weaker units in the back until the initial batch of Knights and Soldiers have been cleared out. Also, throughout the chapter enemies will spawn in pretty much every corner. By the time Turn 2 starts, an enemy will have unlocked the northern door. It’s best to just put Marcus in front of them and let them kill themselves. This may waste experience, but it also saves lives. Anyways, there are more pressing issues to attend to. Marcus is my only healer now, so I need to be extra careful while dealing with enemies. The goal here isn’t kill enemies, it’s too weaken them enough I can kill them next phase on the counter attack. That’s not counting the Archers though; they need to die. Like, right now. Quote:
I let this sucker open the door to the chests for me, then had Serra steal his Lockpick so he couldn’t actually take the chests (which held a Silver Axe and a Mend) |

Priscilla is way too fragile to fight anyone here, so I let her stay on the throne. As for Erk and Guy, they both got hit pretty badly so I just had them retreat. Sealen dropped a Dragon Shield. Anyways, I immediately had Bartre rescue Eliwood. Out of desperation, I had Rebecca go dangerous close to the remaining mass of enemies in order to lure them away from the weakened Bartre. Thankfully, she managed to evade every single attack. Quote:
Chapter 16: Noble Lady of Caelin After repelling the mercenary forces of Eubans, Hector prepares to mount a pursuit of Marquess Laus. Lord Darin and his knights are with the instigator of the rebellion, the enigmatic Ephidel. Hector learns where the fugitives were traveling from Ostia's network of spies. However, their final destination still remains unknown… This time, Hector didn’t just catch a horse. He caught a freaking dragon. Quote:
Okay, this chapter. As I’ve moaned before, Lyn’s units have all had their inventories reset. With Wil and Kent I can just have them trade their equipment, but Sain has to buy a replacement Heal stave. The villages give a Red Gem and a Heavy Spear. Tanto didn’t mention it, but Hector and Florina can Talk this chapter. Quote:

I kept Lyn’s units in the forests to help avoid enemy attacks, but the Archer at the Ballista apparently knows what he’s doing because he never missed Sain. Alright Bartre, I need you to take a hit for your much less awesome team. Oh, you don’t want to do that? Fine with me. Quote:
Chapter 17: Whereabouts Unknown Near Laus, Hector defeats General Bauker. Hector and his allies now march towards Castle Caelin. However, many Laus soldiers await them inside. They begin their assault to liberate the castle. Quote:
(HP: 85%, Str: 55%, Skl: 40%, Spd: 45%, Lck: 35%, Def: 25%, Res: 15%) Finally, a new unit. Raven has a custom promoted sprite, and being a Mercenary means he won’t fit any of the other unpromoted palettes. He’s pretty much a screw you to people messing around with classes. Oh well. Anyways, we’ve finally reached the point of the game where I have to pick what characters I want to keep on using. I’ll be posting a more detailed look at all of the characters soon. |

Raven: Turn him into the prettiest Cleric, because it's looking like you sorely need healers at this point. Also, putting Raven in pigtails is hilarious.

Hmm... all right, analysis time.
In the long run, it's looking like the obvious keeps for the team so far are Bartre, Matthew, Rebecca, Kent, and Guy (and, of course, Raven, who even as a Cleric is too good not to use), all of whom have solid-to-amazing stats and weapon types that work well together. They're far and away the strongest fighters on your team and are a varied bunch in themselves, and will probably carry the group well into the endgame. After that, Serra, Sain, Florina and Wil look like they might cut it, but they'll need a few level ups in their problem areas (in order: Str, Spd, Str, and Spd) before they have a lock on a given spot. Sain's spot is probably the shakiest thanks to his Spd, which is low enough that he'll be doubled by practically anything and his defenses aren't nearly high enough to withstand that kind of a beating. That said, his growths in that stat are decent and he's only at level 4, so it's likely he'll pull out of it once he gets a few more level ups under his belt, and even then, his sky-high Mag means he'll be one of the strongest healers you'll ever get. On the other end of the spectrum is Serra, who is turning into a pretty great thief and has almost reached the point where she outclasses Legault stat-for-stat (even on Hard Mode, the only stats she isn't beating him in are Skill, Spd and Def, and her growths are more than decent enough for her to catch up on the former two); she just needs a little more Str before she's 100% in the clear. Priscilla and Erk look like they're too far behind to hang with the team, as level 4 stats aren't exactly cutting it as HHM material. At the same time, they did also just rejoin the squad and their growths are high enough that they could stage a comeback if they wanted to. Same goes for Oswin, though it's grimmer for him since he's already at level 12, only has 6 Spd and will be competing directly with Harken for a spot (who, as mentioned earlier upthread, is the Best Hero Ever). Dorcas and Lowen are terrible. That's... all that really needs to be said about them, really! Though to be fair, Dorcas has been doing phenomenally well in terms of Spd - it's a shame that it's HHM and he has to compete with Bartre for a spot. For next chapter, I suggest using Serra, Sain, Florina, and Wil. Those four are the most borderline of the group, so we might as well see whether or not they'll pull out of it while they still can. |

Er, I have to bring Serra no matter what. Got to get those chests. Same goes for Priscilla since i need to recruit Raven.

Oh! Right, I forgot about that for a second. In that case, I'd say bring along Erk in case he or Priscilla makes a statistical comeback - their growths are both good, so they could find themselves back in the running if they get a few good level ups under their belt.

Oh, duh, he(among others) doesn't rejoin until later. I assumed he had and I just didn't notice. For some reason I always forgot that the Lyn's Tale characters don't come back all at once.

On another note: I feel like we should've classed Lucius into something other than Mercenary so he won't get booted aside in favour of Harken, but I guess it's too late for that now. Oh well. |

I think we were planning to swap Lucius and Raven, so let's make Raven a Monk! The cleric idea is cute but I'd hate to see Raven fall behind on XP like clerics always do!
Let's give Sain a chance to level pretty and if he doesn't he can be dropped in exchange for Marcus in the future. Kent is badass and should stay forever and ever. Guy and Florina can take the final slots. Matthew shall return as soon as we can reequip him. Crazy Florina is awesome and should stay forever. I don't know how many healers we need to have by the end, but the monks get healing after promotion so the lack of actual clerics is okay, right? Archsage: Would this be a cool class to chuck someone into? He only shows up at the very end so I never got much impression for it during the old LP. |

Archsage is a class with some ridiculous caps and the ability to use all four kinds of magic. Unfortunately, it was specifically created for Athos so anyone who changes into it will gain one hell of a beard.
As for healing... this is Hector Hard Mode. Crazy, improbable shit will happen, and when it does people need to be healed. I'd like to have at least two healers, to be honest. |

Man, nothing like playing a Super Robot Wars game to make Fire Emblem look as boring as hell. Anyways, I've decided that I want to tackle Chapter 17x as well next update. That means you guys have to decide what Canas (HP: 70%, Str: 45%, Skl: 40%, Spd: 35%, Lck: 25%, Def: 25%, Res: 40%) is going to be!
(I am totally going to have Matthew mug his Flux tome) And because I feel like doing something incredibly stupid, I'm going to ask you guys how you want me to approach the chapter. If you don't recall, there were two paths: the safe, northern path that doesn't give much XP, and the super dangerous middle path that is basically a pool of XP. EDIT: And Ninian is either going to be a Fire Dragon so I can make Eliwood look like a total moron ("No way! You mean my girlfriend, who constantly transformed into a dragon to kill things, was a dragon?) or a Dancer so I can get that Kishuna chapter. |

Canas: Considering he's hanging out in a port town, he should be a Pirate, methinks. Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum~♪
As for how to play, I can't see how you expect us not to vote for Operation: Suicide. I mean, super dangerous is the name of the game on Hard Mode. :P |

Canas as a pirate sounds good. As for tactics, I think you should slowly go around the north side and then, at the last moment, somebody trips over the invisible line and everything gets shot to hell. So not only suicide, but stupid suicide. Really, you can just ignore me and go for maximum killing in whatever form.
I could go either way with the Ninian thing. More maps is always cool. When you do FE6, we should consider the altered genetics for what all the kiddies get their classes set to. :3 |
