Nope. If I had failed the Evade check the Dhole would have done its full health damage against me immediately, then regular combat would have begun. Overwhelming and Nightmarish damage is applied after you defeat a monster.

Ursula is technically down 2 points of Sanity and 1 health, but since I'm having her use the Healing Stone during upkeep she should be running at 4/4.
