Upkeep: Fight/ Will goes to 6/0
Moves forward 1 space in the Dreamlands. Quote:
I also decided not to take the chance with the Soul Pact....this time. Giant Head and Queen Possum are in the mountains fighting inbred hillbillies or something, so it may be a while before we hear from them. |

Upkeep shift Speed/Sneak 4/1 to 3/2. Ursula will head to Science Building, fight the Witch, then attempt to evade Flying Polyp.
There's no Horror Check against Witch. Ursula swings her Cavalry Saber at the Witch with a fight rating of 2(+2). Result 6, 1, 5, 6. Witch defeated! I take her gauzy "covering" as a trophy. Evade Check against Flying Polyp is a 2(+0). Result 3, 2. Fail! Unacceptable. Will spend a clue to roll one more die. 6. Success! Ursula sneaks on by. |

Roland can enjoy my buff this turn. Speed/Sneak to 4/2.
Feeling much more safe now that she has some protection in her purse, Minh is going to go check out the nearby Graveyard. Before she does, though, she decides to flip through her Ancient Tome, and see if she can learn anything useful. However, she's feeling a bit distracted, and fails miserably to learn anything new from her tome. She shrugs, and heads to her date with the dead. |

This is fascinating to read, though I don't really know the game well enough to completely know what's going on

There's a lurker at the threshold, so we're running around town collecting clues so we can seal gates. Except for Jim, who is primarily interested in getting drunk and touring Prohibition-era Massachusetts.

Oh, I've played basic AH once before, so I get the gist, but there's lots of details I forget or haven't seen in this expansion.

HASTUR HASTUR HASTUR!!!
I'm interested in seeing if they'll be able to seal off Hastur in time. Every game of Arkham I've played has ended up with our galavanting across town accomplishing not quite enough and going toe to toe with an Elder.

Most games I've played the gate-sealing keeps a steady enough pace to finish the game that way but when Elder fighting ensues, the group has generally seen things heading that way several turns in advance and spent the time shopping for weapons and otherwise gearing up so it's not too horribly hard.

Minh can't stand to listen to this guy any more. What a waste of time. Unable to glean anything useful from the conversation, she heads back to the streets.

Yeah, you're right, I forgot.

Well, my rolls were: 2,1,4. This would mean I fall unconscious. However, can I use Flesh Ward to negate the stamina loss from this encounter?
|
#143
|
|||
|
|||
Yup, if you can cast it
|
#144
|
|||
|

Ok then. Take one Sanity loss from the casting attempt for Flesh Ward. Exhaust the Practitioners of the Art Relationship Card to gain a +1 on the check. Roll 2 dice (3 Lore +1 from Card -2 From Casting Modifier), they come up 3,6! Yes!

Accidentally overwrote this turn. Round 3 totally happened and it was awesome.

Minh is in the Rivertown streets because of her Graveyard encounter, so no gate-going for her at the moment.

I put the clue on the wrong space. It's at the Unvisited Isle.

The little symbols under the locations tell you what you SHOULD get from encounters there. I find the Newspaper has a pretty high money-getting rate? But maybe that doesn't count now with this expansion and the extra cards. Selling bodies is really the only surefire way to get cash, though.
