Galuf - Monk. Leave him be until he gets Barehanded.
Lenna - White Mage. Rack up another spell level so we don't have to go back for a bit. Bartz - Blue Mage! Knowledge is power! Faris - Thief. Just because. Also: Monks do it with their bare hands. Thieves do it through hidden passages. Black Mages do it without showing their faces. Blue Mages do it like they do on the (monster) Discovery Channel. Last edited by Elfir; 04-19-2011 at 08:21 AM. |

I really love Harvest. That track really brings out Final Fantasy V's upbeat tone. Same with Walking Over Snowy Mountains.
As for Jobs, at the very least, keep Galuf and Lenna as they are. Having !Steal on-hand was a boon and a Monk is about the best thing to have in the early game. Just keep him with Learning and watch him clean up. I'm not really sure where you're trying to go with Bartz, but he'd probably be good as a cludged-together paladin. Faris was always my Jack-of-all-trades until the Dragoon class opened up, so she normally got whatever I happen to be deficient in at the time. So she'd be good as a Knight long enough to be able to equip shields and then when she (inevitably, of course) becomes a Time Mage, she'll have some defense. |

To answer your question directly: Sword Dance did not even occur to me. I was thinking about a rather different although also literal implement. A tool with a bit more power in it. I was only somewhat enthused about playing FF5 for the Magissa update, having seen some pretty nice work from the other ALLPers and feeling pretty outgunned. Then "Walking Over Snowy Mountains" happened and I was totally playing FF5 so I could share it with other less fortunate people and it was all awesome again. It's just such a fun track. Part IV - Things Get Walse
Finally, we're off to Walse! And as expected, our dashing heroes have changed their vocations yet again just because they can. Damn guys, abuse your powers much? Bartz, growing jealous of his allies becoming more effective than him, has opted to don a superhero costume and call himself a Blue Mage. He's rather fond of that !Black command, so he's hanging onto it. "Once you go !Black, you never go back!" he was reported to have said. New classes, huh? Let's see...
Bartz - Mystic Knight Lenna - Summoner or Red Mage Galuf - Berserker Faris - Time Mage Not all of these classes are ones I'd normally go with, but I want to see Lenna become a spellcasting fiend with !Dualcast and summons/geomancy at some point. I traditionally have Bartz as a Mystic Knight until I get the Fire Crystal jobs just because. Galuf as a Berserker is useful until he learns Berserk and then he can do whatever uber-powerful class you care to mention. Faris as a Time Mage is beyond useful, especially once she can pair those spells with a hard-hitting class like Dragoon or more versatile class like Ninja. |
