If there's one video that sums up the New Super Mario Bros. Wii experience, This is it.

With all due respect to lakupo, THE definitive Metroid II Let's Play is happening on SA.

Epic Stuff

I only wish Super Metroid used some of the innovations and creative sequence breaks found in there...

Has anyone heard of this FF2 LP at SA? It is actually pretty good! To be honest it's gotten me to soften up towards FF2.

This short, fully illustrated Dwarf Fortress chronicle is pretty great.

That was so good that it made me finally look into Dwarf Fortress.

I am now afraid of Dwarf Fortress.

It's not exactly an LP, but it is very Toastyfrog-esque: I was inspired recently to do a Thumbnail Theater (remember those?) of Vagrant Story. Here it is, if you're curious. This might not be the best spot to link to it, but I can't really think of anywhere else that would be appropriate since Thumbnail Theater was one of the precursors to Let's Plays.

Sweet. I don't have time to read the whole thing right now, but I'll definitely do so later.

That's... that's... wonderful. And I'm not even a Metroid guy, really.

(I like how long it takes some folks to catch on)

If you love bad games as much as I do you might want to check out this series of videos on the absolute worst shovelware. If nothing else it's a great reminder that Sony UK has absolutely no standards.

One of my best buds is doing an LP of the new Bionic Commando.

(Don't worry, I already yelled at him for sitting on the title screen too long.)

May I humbly submit HCBailly? He's got a bunch of video LPs of rpgs. No special gimmicks, but he's enjoyable to listen to and the games are good. I'm underway watching Link's Awakening and Terranigma, both recommended (not to upstage Beat here).

The screaming horrors that serenade you that he recorded when he breaks Pokémon Yellow literally floored me. Just... wow.

Oh yeah, I figure I should mention that I've been watching this LP and it's really good! You should tell this dude that he is a good dude.

I never played beyond the first couple of hours of Breath of Fire IV, but this LP makes me wish that I did. It may not beat out Dragon Quarter for the best in the series, but it makes a damn close second.

Default Iiiiiiiiii - want to blow up some suns...

I liked reading through this guy's Galactic Civilizations playthroughs on PC Gamer - even though these types of games aren't my cup of tea, his writing style coupled with his insane plans that somehow end up working are comedy gold.

Especially funny is his second playthrough, where he attempts to unite everyone in the largest possible galaxy through peace - and fails miserably.

Quote:
Day 1: This is a diary of my attempt to conquer this new size of galaxy, without resorting to violence. This time I'm going for peace.
Quote:
Day 10: You know, I think this might actually work. I just took out the Korath - a race whose special ability is called "Super Annihilator". There can't be many races less susceptible to good TV shows and fine wines than that.
Quote:
Day 27: God, look at me. This was supposed to be my quest for peace, and I've become addicted to destroying suns.

Destroying a sun. It's my answer to everything. How did I try to mend relations with the Terrans? I destroyed a sun. How did I vanquish the Dread Lords? I destroyed their sun. How did I tackle the volatile Drengin? Destroyed all their suns. Drath relations dodgy? Gear up to destroy some suns.

It was spreading to real life, too. Deputy Editor Tim called just now to ask how this diary was coming along, and all I could say was "It's taking a while. Couldn't we just destroy the sun?"
Playthrough 1

Playthrough 2 (Part 1)

Now I want this game. Any game with grappling is automatically awesome.

Wow, you've been on this forum for a solid year now, and you're just now being exposed to Bionic Commando? And you're a fan of Umihara Kawase too. How very odd. But yes, you should probably play it.

Edit: Oh wait, we're talking about the new Bionic Commando. Less bewildering. Still, odd that it passed you by if you're such a fan of grappling. Perhaps you'll be able to overlook the reportedly stupid and childhood-raping story. (Haven't played it myself.)

I highly recommend checking out AccountingNightmare's take on the first 3 Devil May Cry games' LPs. Very informative, not so much silly but still entertaining for me. Plus its good to see more female LPers. Can't wait for the 4th game.

I did see brickroad and a few others play it, but as I'm so young I've been spoiled and have to at least settle for SNES generation gameplay. I'm also very cheap, so I hardly ever play anything next gen unless it's on the PC. The end result is me caught between playing generally old games and freeware games. But yeah, I don't know why the new Bionic Commando is getting such a bad rep either. It seems very polished to me. Then again, I've also never played it myself.

Francois, aka ZedPower over at the Brontos is doing a great LP of Shin Megami Tensei. The original, I'd assume.

The Dark Id has started an LP of Nier on the SA boards, which is sure to be great. He's already done an incredible LPs of Drakengard and others.
