I liked that LP a lot other than the use of the word cunt so much. I've gotten old and wussy since my younger years when all cusses were fair game. Though I am kind of partial to his cunt-o-meter or whatever it was. Man am I inconsistent!

The Ecoquest 2 LP had me in stitches at points. Though that might just be because I remember playing this forsaken thing when I was six or something.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the Tsukihime LP. I've read the whole damn thing and he does quite a good job with it, hitting upon a bunch of the well-known Bad Ends and providing quips at the right moments.

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this LP of I Wanna Be The Guy. It's middling, but it's by the creator of the game and there's a perverse pleasure in watching him play his own creation.

There's a pretty funny LP of Morrowind just starting up over at Rock Paper Shotgun. Part 1. Part 2.

I decided to read this thread from the beginning and check out some LPs. While many are impressive, this video is absolutely awesome, and almost makes up for the years of soul crushing frustration I experienced from Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts.

There's a bunch of old walkthroughs of Origin and Looking Glass (or similar) games here, along with funny things you can do by exploiting bugs. You kinda have to have played the games though to appreciate all the screwy things he describes. My favorite part of the Deus Ex page is setting mines so that a squad of enemies who are teleported in are instantly vaporized. Also, from the end of the Deus Ex page:

Quote:
Ignore him and go back to the booth in Sector 3: it's Jesus Time.
Soon you will have power-over-all, and Bob Page will have bugger-all.
As a cyborg, you are destined to rule the world in wisdom and benevolence..

Naah. Black Helicopter, take me to Washington. I have an accession speech to make to my subjects.

I've been really enjoying the SA LPs of Might and Magic 1 and 2. Within me there's a soft spot for old RPGs like this, but I've decided I derive more enjoyment from watching these than playing them.

(On the other hand, I have played Heroes of Might and Magic games to death and still want more.)

I hesitate calling this a "Great LP," but nevertheless...

For those out the loop, I've canceled my Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes LP due to the sheer awfulness of it.

Fortunately(Unfortunately?), the team behind this fan project already have a Video LP of a new game plus run through by one of the testers. Now you can see the project in action, without me crying myself to sleep at night.

In all honesty, for all the bad mouthing I've been doing over the imbalanced gameplay, horrible story, etc., I thought it did have some interesting ideas and some impressive modding buried deep in there. Gawk in horror where appropriate, but give these amatuer developers at least a little credit where it is due.

There's an LP of Victoria in which the guy decides to play as Texas. He takes the Republic of Texas all the way to the end and makes it one of the greatest nations in the world: http://208.82.101.233/~danimone/Texa...001/index.html

For the record, this game is Civilization on crack. It's like somebody set out to create the most realistic nation sim possible without any regard for playability or user interface. It's absurd.

I have this game as well as the others in the serries, Europa Universalis 3, and Hearts of Iron II and their expansions. I don't have crusader kings. If you go to Paradox Interactive forums, they have things called After Action Reports that are like LPs, but usually shorter and texty.

Speaking of Civilization, go visit the CivFanatics Forum. There is a sticky on the strategy and tips in the Civ4 forums that has a list of their LP style threads. Here's the link: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=258697 I specifically suggest the All Leaders Challenge

Once I watched all eight hours of Grim Fandango: The Movie instead of sleeping. It's a video Let's Play with minimal editing and no narration, and it's just fantastic.

Which is now dead linkage :-(

EDIT: Well, the smaller scene downloads anyway.

I'm enjoying Captain Capitalism's Final Fantasy Tactics LP as an amusing, lightweight counterpart to our own crunchier take on the game. Ramza as an idiot savant works surprisingly well.

Everyone would benefit from watching Alastair Campbell's low-percent speed run of Metroid Prime 2. As you'd expect from a Metroid Prime speed run, he makes use of all sorts of crazy glitches and time-saving exploits, but the audio commentary actually allows the casual observer to comprehend and appreciate the sheer ingenuity of everything he's doing. Plus, he's an eloquent, laid-back guy with an English accent, so listening to him talk is soothing in itself.

I'm a big sucker for horror-themed LPs (perhaps making up for my inability to play them without sobbing and shivering). There's an LP for a pretty unique Russian game called Pathologic going on in the SA forums. It's a pretty unique game, so check it out if you have the time!

I've been enjoying those, especially when they actually lose. It's always amusing for some reason.

There's a new Dwarf Fortress LP on the SA archive, called Headshoots. They started out in a haunted area and the first thing they did was mine for adamantine. At least 30% more horrifying than Boatmurdered, and shows just what sort of pulsating, mangled-but-living organism a Fortress can become. Several players actually try to purposefully destroy the Fortress and fail.

While I have great affection for the Resident Evil series it is decidedly far greater that I am reading through these in chronological order than playing through them all again myself.

I'm on page 42 of this thing, and it's pretty fucking epic. I definitely laughed more than a few times, and reading about the moments that lead up to the fan artwork is a lot of fun. I'm going to second the recommendation.

About where I am in the thread, someone has started a "side" LP where they are taking characters through the abandoned fortress in Adventurer mode. It's really given a senes of context to every evil dungeon I've ever encountered in an RPG. Seems like a succession of devious SA Goons are more than equal to the auspices of evil gods as far creating places of pure evil.

My favorite LP since Boatmurdered is happening over on SA right now:

King of Dragon Pass: Epic Fantasy means fantasy about cows.

It's massive, 138 pages as of right now, and worth every second. I'm just saying, eventually you'll get fan made images like this, and you'll thank me:

The game's creator apparently linked to it recently, somewhere. Mystic Mongol is also in the new DF LP over there, and did the great Way of the Samurai 2 one that is lost to the archives forever/until I pony up and buy an SA account and then archive forums access. Also, I think he was in Scott Sharkey's City of Heroes group back in the day on 1up? Maybe?

Decesed Crab has a LP of a game called Peasant's Quest,

One of the puzzles is solved by typing "deploy baby".

To progress you have to STINK like a peasant,

DRESS like a peasant and be ON FIRE like a peasant.

All to get revenge on the dragon who BURINATED your house.

It's actually spelled like that in the game.

It's still a typo - look closer.
(I'm pretty sure it's missing an 'n'.)
