Behind on everything this week as I catch up from travel, so just gonna spew out some quick impressions:

A Gourmet Race between Kirby and Homer would be a dead heat until they start coming across things just too dang big for a human to even implausibly consume, at which point Kirby breaks out the amped-up super suction powers. In an actual confrontation, Kirby sucks in Homer easily, and Homer is just bemused by the situation. Tingly!
(As an aside, I feel like any "power" Kirby could absorb from Homer would put him at a disadvantage in any following match-up, but he can always be spit back out before then.)

I feel like Haruko could take Luggage. Luggage is fast but not nearly as agile or maneuverable. It's tenacious, but so is she. And she's tough enough to take a few bites and stand back up before pulling out some guns big enough to deal with it.

Going with Link over Leona largely on the strength of his more diverse toolkit, though if she amps up the Orochi powers she's certainly give him a run for his rupees and he'll come out of it quite a few hearts the worse for wear.

Sherlock vs Caesar is one of those matches that's a bit hard to make sense of, but I guess on some level they're both strategists. And even though Caesar is more focused on combat strategy, I feel like Holmes thinking several steps ahead could still come out on top one way or another.

Yeah, Homer's wackiness gives him a surprising advantage in some fights but he doesn't stand a chance against Kirby.

I feel like the Luggage is described as a force of nature. I think it takes this one.

Link's got enough variety in abilities to win this match, though I think it would be a tough one.

I don't know enough about Wargroove but I believe as smart as Sherlock is, he will fall to Commander Dog because despite him being a martial artist, the dog is trained for war.

Kirby, I dunno, Link, Caesar

idk I'd describe most of these match-ups as pretty one-sided, but I'd love to hear a dissenting opinion.

battle of characters who eat a lot, were in multiple video games, have an animated series and have lots of RL merch:

Homer runs more on humor and cartoon logic and Kirby runs more on video game logic. In a straight up fight I think Kirby can win handily. In an eating contest / gourmet race I'm not sure how it would go down. I think it is equally funny if Homer underestimated Kirby and was surprised by how much he could eat or if Kirby was surprised that Homer could keep up with him. But I do think that ultimately Homer's human-esque physiology will reach its limits, he will get full and Kirby will win. Something else I could also see happening is Homer getting distracted like by an ice cream truck driving by the arena - Homer would run off to get ice cream (despite Marge yelling at him from the sidelines) and Kirby would be confused for a second but then also start running towards the ice cream truck. At that point it would be a race to see who gets there first. Kirby would try to use the Warp Star to beat Homer there but will be surprised when Homer defies all logic and can outrun that mode of transportation. Homer gets to the ice cream truck first but he was also the first to run out of bounds and be disqualified. Homer isn't mad about that because he still gets to have ice cream. And Kirby is happy because that's how he is, he won, he met a new friend and he got to eat a lot of food.

match between video game characters whose names begin with L and are from series that have "of" in the title:
If Link was using a two-handed sword and wasn't able to block properly then I think Leona could beat him. But that would only happen if she could stun-lock or use a touch of death/100% combo on him. And I don't think she has anything like that. She could maybe blitz Link down if she was in the Orochi state but I think she either has to inflict a lot of self damage to enter that state or some arbitrary external plot trigger has to happen to awaken it - so it could be hard for her to do that on demand.

Link is used to lots of different types of fights so I don't think there's really anything Leona can do that would either outright surprise him or that he couldn't counter after initially being surprised. Link has lots of different longer ranged attack options that I don't think Leona has any answers for. So I think LInk will be able to kite Leona and chip away at her until she goes down. Link shows off his victory screen pose.

Baritsu versus Bark-itsu:
Sherlock is 1 and 0 against dogs but that was an entirely different situation. (And didn't he have Watson's help with that?) Now I don't think Sherlock is a sentimental sap but I also don't think he would have much interest in attacking a dog that isn't actively trying to harm him or anyone else. Caesar is good at inspiring a large army while Sherlock is good at making other people respect his powers of deduction. For as good as Sherlock is at one on one fights I don't think his skills really extend to a battlefield level. Would Holmes try to get Caesar to fetch a stick or would he deduce that a ploy like that would be wasted on a trained and disciplined dog of war like Caesar? I see a lot of mutual wary circling going on for a while. But I think ultimately Holmes will get bored and question if this is really worth his time. I think he might decide to surrender the match and see what type of challenge he might be able to find in the losers' bracket. I guess you could say Caesar routed Holmes and has won the day.

faceoff of characters with at least 1 U in their names:
This is one that I could see dragging on for quite a while. Both combatants can withstand and dish out quite a lot of punishment due to anime toon force and narrativium. I can see them trading blows back and forth and getting knocked all over the arena. There's no time limit or rounds* in this match so there's nothing stopping them from repeating that again and again. Luggage swallows Haruko but then she pops out of someone's forehead. Haruko tries to use her fanservicey seduction schtick but gets a bite on her bum for her trouble. Flying on her guitar or scooter might keep her out of The Luggage's range for a while but I think The Luggage could find some incredibly violent solution to that. And I think I've figured it out. Haruko is flying around taking potshots at The Luggage thinking that she can wear it down eventually but that's not going to happen. The Luggage crouches down and then uses all of its legs to jump really high up in the air. The Luggage isn't close to Haruko so she laughs at its failed attack but then she realizes The Luggage's plan when it slams back down into the ground unleashing a massive shockwave that shatters the arena and sends chunks of earth flying everywhere at high speeds. Those chunks bombard Haruko and bury / daze her long enough for the exhausted and exasperated ref to decide to call that a KO so that this match can end. The Luggage wins. (On a side note, I don't know the limits of Haruko's physiology but I think eventually she would get tired and lose. Also, I could see her getting bored or annoyed, decided she's had enough then taking her ball and going home.)

*Well, Haruko might make a round break occur just to be wacky but that could probably only happen once.

Kirby eats Homer's lunch.
Link outlasts Leona.
Caesar conquers Holmes.

Haruko versus Luggage is a tie, so I must once again adjudicate. Of your arguments, I'm most persuaded by Torzelbaum's, so Luggage takes this one by decision.

going by vibes I think Y'Shtola would beat Rush, but I need to hear an argument before I commit to a vote. EDIT: Y'Shtola

Ants can lift up to 50 times their weight. Unfortunately, that's still not enough to lift the average bomb, so I'm gonna give this to Bomberman.

Michael and Kramer would start off with some inane verbal argument, gradually escalating until Michael grabs Kramer's collar. At this point, Kramer actually starts fighting back, and it ain't pretty for Michael's face. Kramer wins after throwing only two or three punches.

Pretty much all of this echoes my initial thoughts tbh.

Purple

(She/Her)
On the simplest level, dog beats cat... but like... Rush is an eager to please artificial homonculus and Y'shtola actually has a canonical affinity for bossing those around. Bomberman's only true weakness is his own hubris but I feel like the relative speed of an ant means he can take his time and not blow himself up here. And Kramer is the most feral and scrappy sitcom character.

I have a question for Rush vs. Y'shtola - in Final Fantasy 14 how do Machine-type monsters react to the Earth and Wind elements?

FF14 doesn't do much with elemental weaknesses or resistance. More of a matter of what flavor do you want your ass kicked with?

Regardless, Y'shtola would have Rush under her command pretty quickly.

Bomberman because he wouldn't even register anything Flick would do.

No opinion on #3

Rock and Rule
Rush and Rhul:
So Rush has the most offensive capactiy in his Rush Marine mode but most cats hate water and I think that also applies to catwomen so I think he'll have a hard time luring a catwoman mage close enough to the water to do much damage to her. I think Rush could avoid most of her spells by staying underwater but he can't do that forever.

Rush Jet has less offensive capacity but I think it will allow him to avoid Rhul's earth-element spells. However, I think her wind-element spells could do a number to him in this mode. And he also can't stay in that mode if the fight drags on too long.

I would assume that Rush might be able to bite in his base form but I don't know how fast he is so the question is whether he can close the distance and do enough damage to Rhul to win the fight. I think Rush would probably get hit by at least one spell while trying to do that. If that spell knocked him down or knocked him back then I think Rhul could repeat the process and defeat Rush.

There are really a lot of assumptions that have to be made to judge how this fight will go. But I guess I will give it to Rhul even though she's a squishy mage because she has more offensive ability and I just don't see Rush his-naming her down.

Flik versus master of Nanto Bakusatsu Ken:
Flik might be able to create a contraption to send Bomberman's bombs back at him but I feel like that's something Bman knows to be wary of. I don't know if Flik would be able to attract anything large or dangerous enough to threaten Bman that Bman couldn't defeat with his bombs. Without anything that can really threaten him I think it will be hard for Flik to force or trick Bomberman into blowing himself up. So I think in the end the bug gets bombed and Bomberman is the victor.

Generally Rish gear is all support and he's fighting alone. Givin it to Y'Shtola.

Flik won a fight by bringing togethera lot of people. All alone, we won't beat Bomberman.

Both sitcom characters are self saboteurs. Though both could be goaded into a confrontation on a physical front, both of them are both at their strongest AND weakest in the field of business. Michael grinds out the day to day and despite his incompetence in many areas, especially practical stuff, his company is surprisingly effective in his department. Kramer, meanwhile, challenges established systems with either a get rich quick scheme or taking Dunder Mifflin to court or taking advantage of a weird offer.

Kramer isn't sensible but he will see whatever plan he has through to its logical conclusion. And despite what everyone expects, it is often his to lose... which he does, usually through a miscalculation or even realizing whatever his prize is isn't worth the effort anymore. Meanwhile, in fighting whatever Kramer has put forth, Michael will endure complete public humiliation. Ironically, if he did nothing it would have worked out better for him. But he ENDURES. This means in terms of business, Michael survives but us ends in the cringe One and Kramerloses but has already moved on. Michael wins business, Kramer is doing fine. I only give Michael the win because the people he loves still have a job.

duel of the live-action sitcom guys:
It seems unlikely that these two would come out swinging at each other. But I could see a situation where they engage in dueling schemes. Would Kramer try to sell Michael on some crazy business idea, Michael uses his experience to point out all of the glaring flaws in the idea, Kramer becomes incensed and then they come to blows? Would Michael try to hire Kramer? Instead of fighting would they try to find some sport or other competition to use to decide their face off?

I guess I'll go with Michael Scott but I don't have any justification for it other than to say I can't think of a strong argument against it right now.

I have quick takes on the first two:

Inframan and the Dalek trade various beam-weapon fire for a bit, then Inframan goes super-size and steps on the tin can. Against an army of Daleks it might go differently, but with only a single one it's game over.

Bebop will get in a few licks, but eventually Airman will blow him off a building or into a manhole or something.

As for the others... I'm'a wait for folks with more experience to give input on Joseph vs Malenia, and as for Max and Egg they'd surely end up as bros but I'm not sure who would concede the match first.

Inframan versus Dalek:
I don't think Inframan will grow to giant size unless the Dalek does that first. Have Dalek's ever done anything like that? Even at normal size I still think I-Man has what it takes to win this fight. Inframan has a lot of ranged attacks when not grown so I don't think he'll have to worry about being outranged. He is also very agile so I think he can dodge the Dalek's attacks. But Inframan is a tokusatsu / sentai hero so he will probably take at least one hit which will result in a massive shower of SFX sparks and Inframan being blown off his feet. Inframan has had trouble with metal opponents but he was able to defeat them. However he did have to turn their weapons against them in order to defeat them. But he was able to defeat a regenerating monster by using his most powerful attack that he unlocks by using his most powerful weapon - the Thunderball Fists. Dalek's are supposed to be fairly tough and I think they will be like an elite cannon fodder for Inframan so that's what he'll have to do to win. The Dalek explodes in a shower of SFX sparks and Inframan does his dramatic victory pose.

Joseph versus Malenia:
I don't think Malenia is undead so Hamon won't instantly destroy her. I think Joseph's Hamon can keep the Rot from affecting him but that might prevent him from being able to use his full offensive power. So will his predictions allow him to dodge Malenia's attacks and counter-attack for long enough to put her down? Will Joseph just say screw this and whip out the Tommy Gun and grenades? I think he could definitely win if he did that. But I'm not sure if that's really all that fair. I'm going to say that he has Jonathan's sword to keep things fair but I still feel like that won't be enough to keep up with Malenia's damage and healing. Malenia wins.

Bebop versus Air Man:
I'm going to assume that Air Man's tornadoes can block Bebop's shots which will definitely tilt things in Air Man's favor. Someone with even a modicum of smarts could recognize Air Man's patterns and use Bebop's weapons to exploit them. Bebop is not smart enough to be able to do that. I think Bebop will get a few hits / shots in but he won't be able to win the damage race. I think there are ways Bebop could win but he's not clever or lucky enough to have/make those happen. Bebop can't beat Air Man.
