So has everyone moved on or will people snicker if I post this for reasons beyond the original context?

Well, there's good news on one of those fronts...
This is so incredibly ominous, do you know something I don't? Last I heard, the TV show was still on track for a third season, and they just announced a spin-off comic of the show (distinct from the Harley comics already in publication) that takes place between S2 and S3.

Just that there's going to be a third season, as you said you couldn't wait for the second.

I'm looking for some recommendations for quality Harley Quinn content. I've seen just enough out-of-context comic pages on tumblr to be interested in the on-page iteration of the character. The presence of Batman and/or the Joker is unnecessary and not particularly wanted, but not a dealbreaker.

Thanks in advance!

If it’s out-of-context comic panels being shared online that caught your eye, then it’s probably the Amanda Conner/Jimmy Palmiotti series. It is light on Batman & the Joker too.

The Injustice series had some great bits with Harley interacting with Green Arrow and Black Canary. You'll have go through some other stuff too but the HQ material is very good.

Octopus Prime

Mysterious Contraption
(He/Him)
Which isn’t to say the rest of the series isn’t also very good, but Harley is one of the main draws

So were people just unaware of DC’s Young Adult line existing before I Am Not Starfire was announced, because people are getting WAAAAYYYY too upset over what I understand is just a self contained, generic “parents don’t understand me” book.

Some people like Batman bein' a grump, or a scary badass, or an emo loner, or a drug fueled fever dream. But to me, Batman's greatest strengths has always been the broad supporting cast of his peerless rogues gallery and also his menagerie of partners. So I am all here for this. I've literally wanted this my whole life. First few chapters are good, I look forward to more. I also really like several of the interpretations of the characters we've seen here. Like hey, a Cassie who gets to talk and have emotions and a personality, can you imagine that!? And an Alfred that wasn't gruesomely murdered by Thomas Wayne, also nice.

Also, this comic built up like half a million views in like 24 hrs, expect there to be TONS of boardroom meetings because of this over at DC and Marvel.

Alfred's tradition of making cookies if everyone comes home uninjured is equal parts heartwarming and tragic.

Wait, what?

I admit I haven't been paying much attention to the bat-continuity since New 52, but I have to ask once again, wait, what?
I haven’t fully read Tom King’s run yet, but Alfred is currently dead in the main comics, though I believe it was Bane who killed him. Thomas Wayne (Flashpoint universe Batman version) was just partnering with Bane at the time, which is still probably a “Wait, what?” but that’s comics for ya.

Bane was the mastermind, but it was Thomas Wayne who did it IIRC. Basically, Bane was taking over Gotham with Thomas Wayne's help as a henchman. And they gave Batman an ultimatum: leave Gotham or we'll hit you where it hurts the most. Batman of course wasn't going to back down, so Thomas Wayne murdered Alfred.

It was shit, not just because it killed Alfred off for dumb reasons. But because it undid one of the few cool/emotional moments of flashpoint. Where Flash gave Batman a note from Thomas Wayne and he kinda got some closure in his life about his parents. Then that same dad comes back and murdered his adoptive dad and now he's got no dads. What a miserable turn of events.

At least Batman got married to Selina Kyle, that was a good thing to come out of contemporary Batstuff.

Wait, they actually got married? I thought they were going to, then didn't, then decided to be together, but I forgot if they went that far.

I mourn Bane's character assasination and Alfred's literal one. I am curious about what's the built-in reset button. though... then again, this being DC, you don't have to worry too much about that. Just send Flash back in time or wait five years for the next companywide reset.

I'm not sure if there's a better place here to ask this, but... does anyone know what fonts are used for the logos (Superman's Pal" and "Jimmy Olsen") here?

I told someone I'd try to make a parody cover based on this, and I want to make sure I get it right. I tried using a font identifier, but nothing it brought back seemed right, and I haven't had any other luck finding anything on it.

I'm sure somebody has crafted a font based off of it in modern times, but like. I very much doubt that was a font they used back in the day to make it. It's just a logo someone designed and then they traced it for the new covers every time.

That makes an inconvenient amount of sense.

I guess the question, then, is if anyone actually has reproduced it... and how one would find it if it's not named for the title.
