Ha ha. What the fuck?csv (yes, you read that right)
5 is my favorite. Are FF’s 1-5 as good as 6? That game surprised me, and I may want to give the earlier games a try if they are also fun to play in the twenty-first century.
For a flagship franchise release from an A-list developer you'd expect something a little more complicated for dictating how the game works than a plain text list.[doesn't get it at all]
than a plain text list.
Likely exported directly from a spreadsheet, which is not actually the worst way to manage that data.*pushes up glasses* Please. It's not a plain text list. It's a comma-separated value list!

In case it's confusing anyone else, they're out as "Final Fantasy" and so on, no "pixel remaster" in the titleSo, the pixel remasters of I - III are out on steam, right? Because I just looked, and can't find them.
Edit: Nevermind, found them.
I love it, it makes them feel almost like Super Nintendo remakes now, the only minor issue I've encountered in 3 is a very slight delay loading the item page, although my inventory is quite packed so it could be to do with that too lol. And yeah, it's going to be such a shame if they end up with only default fonts on consoles, hopefully they might later add in a font selector or something officially.Aw dang, that looks super nice. It's a shame if it's ported to Switch this won't be possible because that one aesthetic change helps so much.
Oh, thank you for linking this. Looks fantastic. Now if only they could patch the game so I don't have to change it to fullscreen and/or borderless windowed every time I boot the game! Oh well.Folks on Discord have made a Mystic Quest font for the trilogy, it looks so much nicer and fits the pixel graphics really well, just copy the two files into the streaming assets folder for each game. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/866169070151794718/871261506396901406/MaxiQuest.zip
oh no way, they've been having trouble fixing that apparently, this version was supposed t fix it, as far as i can tell it all looks consistent on my end, has it not altered the numerals for you? This is the Resetera thread i got it from btw, I'm not actually a member of the discord itself. Final Fantasy I, II & III Pixel Remaster |OT| The Bare NESessities Square Enix - Retro - OT | Page 29 | ResetEraIt seems that it doesn't change the numerals, though? How would one go about editing a .bundle file to tweak that?
i really hope they fix that, it is even more bizarre when it is clearly remembering our display setting fine in the config lol. That and the slight stuttering or tearing are the main things i hope they fix, if i play on my latop screen i get terrible screen tearing even if i force V Sync in Nvidia Control Panel, but if i play plugged into my TV at 60hz i get terrible microstuttering every 4 seconds or so instead, it really is the only thing I dislike about these ports as otherwise I think they're fantastic, being able to scope out dungeons for chests with the maps is just so handy and is actually encouraging me to want to get every item and chest .Oh, thank you for linking this. Ah, thanks for the info, that does seem a strange decision, although I admit I know nothing about coding lol, hopefully they'll be able to sort it out, they're making great progress already .That is the latest release of that fontpack I've seen. Issue is that some system level fonts for timers are packed away in other spots of the files instead of the base font bundles (why...?), so I'm not sure what's been found for that.
Oh fantastic, they're definitely worth it, especially with 3 finally being available in the west in 2D, the lack of the GBA bonus stuff is a shame but I think the minimap and the redone soundtracks make up for it. I'm currently being naughty and flying the black flag with the games due to lack of funds and wanting to see if they are worth playing, but my birthday is in a couple weeks and you can bet I will be getting the full bundle with any money I get . I need to get back to Brick's playthrough of 3 actually, I started the other night and fell asleep on the couch missing most of it lol.I was acting as a middleman for Brickroad's discord, as I mentioned it there. I didn't have any of the games myself to check. I think it was due to just copying the en file and not the ja, since the numerals are only in the ja file for some reason.
I finally took the plunge and just bought the first one, and extracting both files seems to work for me.
I'll cop to the "Your favorite FF is the one you played when you were fifteen" cliche. I have so many fond memories of being clustered around a crappy 13" CRT in my best friend's mom's bedroom (the living room TV was off limits until the soaps ended), absolutely entranced just watching an older brother play FFIV. Well. "Final Fantasy II" as it was known back then. I wore an Onion Kid tied to my belt, as was the style at the time.5 is my favorite.
