I must not frequent the threads where Arugula has displayed hostility before, so this outburst was kind of a shock. Definitely sounds like banning him was the correct decision though, so thank you for your swift action, mods.

I just recently played through Seasons for the first time in 20 years, and I loved it. It's riffing off of Link's Awakening and the original Zelda pretty heavily, but there's also a lot of unique ideas and fun items. If you link the two games (through a password when you beat one) you get a final boss for the duology.

Seasons is more combat focused, and Ages is more puzzley. Both are great, play in whichever order you prefer.

E- note these were made by Capcom, and are the first two Zelda games by Fujibiyashi. Nintendo liked his work so much that they hired him, and he directed the two Switch games.

As mentioned in the Discord channel, I consider them to be somewhere between B+ to B-, compared to Links Awakenings A grading. This isn't taken as real grading, just want to say that they are, while not quite as good as Zelda at its best, they are both well made games, and certainly worth playing, if you liked LA.

Link's Awakening is clearly the best game of the 3 GB/GBC Zeldas. But having just played through Seasons, I'd give it a solid A. Great dungeons, fun gameplay, just a joy from start to finish. Not really a disagreement, but maybe we're using different scales.

I kinda like what the story was going for more in Ages but I cannot deny that Seasons gave me some of the most fun I've ever had on a handheld. I don't know why but Link's Awakening never clicked with me quite as well.

They could but the question is whether or not they would. I mean, even with some reuseable assets, two simultaneous games is even more work on an HD console. Even moreso when the games need to be able to cross over in two separate ways.

Nintendo would either need to put both titles in one package or sell 'em separately but with a discount for buying both...and I doubt they would do either, not when they charged $60 for Link's Awakening by itself.

I still think Link's Awakening is the best Zelda (right ahead of LttP which is a 1A), but coming up shy of that gem isn't exactly a knock on either of the Oracle games. Very fun stuff that I really should replay eventually.

Pokemon Trading Card Game on GBC and Pokemon Stadium 2 are coming to Switch Online today after the Pokemon Presents is over.

I genuinely cannot remember if Pokemon Stadium 2 is as useless as Pokemon Stadium (1) without the ability to interact/import a Gameboy Pokemon save.

It is. There's a bit more to do singleplayer, but the main point of those games is the Gameboy connectivity.

I'm sorry, they're releasing Pokemon TCG and Stadium to Switch Online before... Pokemon Red and Blue?

I... fuckin' WHAT?

If you are a person who has not played Vampire Survivors yet because it wasn't on Switch... it is on Switch now.

Charles Martinet is stepping down from voicing Mario. He'll still be Nintendo's "Mario Ambassador", whatever that means, but any Mario games post-Wonder will have a new voice actor for the plumber. Don't worry, I highly doubt it'll be Chris Pratt.

This is sad, but Martinet spent the better part of three decades bringing joy to people around the world, and even after he's long gone we'll still be saying "It'sa me! Mario!", and what better legacy can one leave than that?

My assumption on Mario Ambassador is he is just retiring but Nintendo is pretty controlling of its IPs, so they worked out an arrangement where they can still dictate how he should behave at cons and the like (no using the Mario voice for potty langauge at a fans behest for example).

There'd be no point in subjecting themselves to the cost and scheduling difficulty of casting a celebrity screen actor when they've been very consistent about using voice actors in games. That was an Illumination casting decision, not a Nintendo one.
