I may be a country bumpkin, but canceling and removing all these shows while not throwing House of Dragons into the Mariana Trench seems like a Bad Move. Nobody wants that show, killing it would save money and dignity.

Seeing people now say that, if shows or movies are used as a tax write off and taken as a “loss,” then legally they can never be released. Anyone know if that’s true or if there’s a source for it other than Twitter?

I’m also seeing speculation that the residuals stuff is backlash for 2020 union negotiations that upped the residuals that actors received, so now I totally expect these purges to start happening elsewhere.

I never know nowadays how much it's "people are talking about this" versus "we paid the media monopolies to care", but it seems like all the big entertainment sites are stroking Daenerys's dragons, as the saying goes, and all they have been focusing on for the last week is the premiere of the new Game of Thrones show. Mind you, I am pretty sure the same thing was done for Westworld's fourth season, and I'm also pretty sure that one has ratings that are best described as "cratered". Grain of salt and all that, but at least someone is pushing this stupid show.

Oooof seeing people trying to binge watch Infinity Train and it’s removed mid-watch. They had no warning for this, good lord.

You can still buy it digitally on Amazon, though I imagine a DVD release for Books 3 and 4 aren’t in the cards now.

Yeah, what WBD is doing is indefensible. I hope the creators of Infinity Train and other similarly murdered IPs take WBD to court to gain control over their works. Since what they're doing is tantamount to abandonware.

The DOTA2 'anime' that Valve/Netflix makes put out a third season just now. This season somehow managed to be an even wilder ride than the first two. The show still looks really sharp. (It's animated by the same Korean studio that makes the Avatar/Korra shows.) It's still a bit too Oww the Edge at times in its dialog, but I'll never stop being impressed by both how cool some of the fights are, how seriously the show takes the complete nonsense DOTA lore, and how they manage to find real pathos in the show from time to time. There's also some really good acting moments from its star studded cast as well. I went into this show originally dreading it, assuming it would be terrible, and only watched because a friend twisted my arm so much that I relented. But I'm glad he did that because it's a fun time and I've really enjoyed it. This last season ended with a lot of finality. I really don't know if we'll see another one, especially with Netflix cutting back on its animation budgets. But I'd gladly welcome another. Even if we've seen the last of my beloved Tony Todd

In case anyone didn't know Amphibia is really fun. At least that's the judgement after the first two episodes. And yeah, reminds me a lot of Owl House.

So is it worth sticking with "The Great North"? I gave its first few episodes a shot and they're... rough. The first episode of Bob's Burgers was rough too, but this so far feels kind of charmless. Does it improve? Or is it the Cleveland Show to Bob's Burgers' Family Guy?

Gave another couple episodes a shot, 3 and 4 did a lot better at selling the show than 1 and 2 did. Still feels a bit awkward but I'll stick with it for another little bit.

Solar Opposites season two is a big improvement over season one, and I already liked season one quite a bit. All the gleeful nihilism of Rick and Morty without the misguided attempt at having a point.

I would say Great North jumped right past the early Bob's Burgers growing pains as well as its peak era, straight to the "reliable and heartwarming but rarely amazing" state that Bob's has been in for a while now. It's nice comfort food.

I don’t know if I’m feeling the Velma show or not (I don’t really want gory Scooby Doo to be a real thing), but I do think having Shaggy go by his birth name Norville is a pretty ingenious trap to set for the internet clowns whining about changes, revealing that they don’t actually know that much about something they’re pretending to care about.

Been a looong time coming. James Gunn tried to make her gay but was stopped, and Mystery Incorporated made her bi but only off-screen. It's going to be pretty embarrassing if the "grown-up" version isn't queer.
