I was going to do more but I got asked about Bob and George elsewhere and aged 300 years and turned into dust so I had to stop.
Wait... Bob and George can't be that old, right?

*Looks up when it came out.*

*Piles up next to Lyrai.*

Okay, so that’s 69 (nice) more from Lyrai which puts us at 257/800!

That puts us at 32% after one scant week!

New entry for MEGAMAS this year is Batboy which, at first blush, is a pretty transparent knockoff of Shovel Knight, just starring Casey Jones from TMNT instead of a guy who Shovels Very Well.

And you'd be remiss to say it's just that and go about your day; this really understood the assignment and made a really fun game in the Mega Man mold; levels all were really fun to explore, the difficulty curve was excellent and while it wasn't *quite* as freeform as Mega Man or Shovel Knight proper, that helped since the levels wound up making good use of your expanding arsenal. All in all; a really pleasant surprise for the MEGAMAS season.

Anyway, that's 13 more for the heap; so 302, putting us at 38% of our way to the goal line at just a week and a half in!

Mega Man Wily's Conquest 2: Hyper Edition Turbo! was alright. Neat visual design, nearly the whole game was new sprites, and boss fights were generally an improvement on the originals, but mostly pretty tough and freewheeling in a not great way. Averaged out in the end.

It's funny, both the MM2 hacks I've gone through have given Bubble Lead an arc like a Gundam theme going over the head of an oblivious viewer and it's really upped the weapon's utility. Pretty cool how such a simple change turned the weapon into a go-to.

For the record, Octo and others, when I run out of the mega mans on my list, if there's still time, I plan to solicit other mega manlikes to play.

Did Mega Man 2 on the Switch Legacy Collection while watching the Caps game tonight. 8 more, unless we count the Guts Tank?

Gravity Circuit is done! I almost had beaten it before over the summer, but the final boss was absolutely brutal, and even playing on Easy mode had me down to the wire.

Otherwise, it adheres much more to Mega Man Zero than anything else, with a highly acrobatic hero and a lot of focus on melee combat and, in some stages, some top-tier platforming challenges. Good time, all told. And that's 10 more for the pile so we're at 328!

My brother and I decided to play the NES games over Thanksgiving weekend; he had not played a Mega Man game since we were kids. Good times were had.

So that's another 46 for the pile.

Jumping Jehosephat…

okay, that’s 211 more for a new total of 539. Easily taking care of my mild disappointment that we wouldn’t hit the halfway mark before Tuesday was over.

Were now at 67%

Finished all three paths of Rockman Power Battles on the NGPC, so that’s 18 more.

Honestly kind of more impressed with this than I am with the arcade version, even if it doesn’t play as well (and also all the text is in Japanese so… difficulty reading it); the NES sprites looked a *lot* more impressive on the somewhat more powerful NGPC hardware, and the MM7 sprites look a lot better scaled back like this.

Anyway; 557/800

only a handful of megamans left to go before I get into megamanlikes.

Well I didn’t love Bat boy, but I liked it enough to finish it so add another 12-18 to the list depending on how you were counting the various sports obsessed weirdos with life bars.

Actually, reflecting on it, the rematches are pretty distinct so I’ll count that as four more for each of us;

610!

I wasn’t sure if the optional bosses that give power up ingredients would count. They aren’t terribly thematic nor do they give you an ability so you are correct to spurn them.

Megamas came at the perfect time, I have to play Mega Man games (along with some other games) to get screenshots for a project I'm working on.

So far I've cleared Mega Man X and the original Mega Man. Might be able to clear another game or two over the weekend but for now, throw 14 more on to the pile.

Luminous Avenger iX 2 was one of the surprise hits of last year for me, but it didn't grab me as well this time around. Mainly because the game really, *really* threw a lot of stuff on the screen at a time and no matter how nimble Copen is, he ain't up to the task of dodging it all; the best strategy is to get the defensive skill (which is likely the first one you can afford) and just tanking hits.

Which mostly works really well since, while it's a very powerful defensive ability (it practically negates damage while you're completely motionless) it's hard to balance using it while attacking.

Also you get unlimited free use E-Tanks right from the jump and there are bosses where even with the defense boost, that gets used liberally. Anyway, gonna count that for 12, since a most of the rematches were, in fact, pretty distinct.

Maverick Hunter X - 10 (Original 8, X & Zero)

Don't X and Zero get away after this battle? It's been a couple years since I played through Vile Mode, but I'm not totally sold X & Zero count. (I don't actually care, I'm just having fun.)
