(he, him, his)
1. The first sequel added something at the end.

2. The 2nd sequel took that away and only added a little something at the beginning.

3. Far away can actually be surprisingly close.

4. Has a pulse pounding soundtrack. (Rocking it old school.)

5. The line must be drawn for all to see.

6. But the line stops with the first sequel. (Note: This means that the line extends through the first sequel but not to the 2nd sequel.)

7. To everything turn, turn, turn.
8. Keep on moving.

9. But not moving might be your best option.

10. If all else fails then hit the panic button.

gorha got it.

1&2: The first two sequels were Asteroids Deluxe and Blasteroids

3: You and everything else in the game can travel / warp from one edge of the screen to the opposite side.

4: The music sounds like a heartbeat

5&6: Both the first game and Deluxe used vector graphics. Blasteroids did not.

7: You can rotate/turn your ship left and right.

8&9: The propulsive thrust you use imparts momentum that more or less obeys the laws of inertia in space. That inertia can carry you into hazardous positions.

10: Take your chances by hitting the hyperspace button to warp to a different location.

11: You can get crushed between two asteroids if you're not careful. Or one can collide with you if you don't shoot it fast enough or from far enough away.

12&13: Shooting the large and medium asteroids creates smaller ones.

Did you know that the word asteroid means "star-like"?

1. You don't play as the title character.
2. In fact, you don't even meet that character until the end.
3. Retail copies of this game came with a book.

Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego
Yes!

Carmen herself is the culprit in the final case; until then, you're just chasing the flunkies from her gang.

The World Almanac and Book of Facts, which was a convenient source of things like national flags in the pre-internet age.
