1) The somewhat less grim darkness of the far future. - The game takes place in the 40th century. But it's not all grim dark
2) A series, from a series, from a series. - Tribes came from the mech sim Starsiege that came from Earthsiege which was part of something called Metaltech.
3) That original series also happens to be a rip-off of another series! - Metaltech was a ripoff of Mechwarrior
4) Loadouts are limited by Armor type. - The weapons you could carry depended on what type of armor you were wearing.
5) Armor types are limited to three options. - You could wear light, medium, and heavy
6) Five ways to play! - Capture the Flag, Deathmatch, Capture & Hold, Defend & Destroy, and Find & Retrieve were the styles of play available to players.
