Johnny Unusual

(He/Him)
1. What's a good sexy Halloween costume to wear?
2. What's your favourite misguided horror film?
3. What's a good song for Halloween that isn't meant to be spooky?
4. What spooky short film do you recommend?
5. What landmark would you love to see dressed up for the season?

Octopus Prime

(He/Him)
1. First thought, best thought, Sexy Calculator. How that would work is not for me to determine, but the brilliant fashion minds at Spirit Halloween Store
2. I’m going to say Birdemic. Every moment of that is veering just left of correct
3. I have “Don’t Fear the Reaper” on my Halloween playlist for just this reason
4. If Anthology TV counts as a short film, then the Talking Tina episode of Twilight Zone
5. MUMMY STATUE OF LIBERTY!!

1. What's a good sexy Halloween costume to wear?
I agree with Octo that math is the way to go here, but we can take it further: I propose the Sexy Levi-Civita Tensor.

2. What's your favourite misguided horror film?
Prometheus. I maintain that that movie is so close to being really good, and it has more interesting ideas than the last 30 years of "Alien" movies combined, even if Ridley Scott hasn't followed up on any of them since.

3. What's a good song for Halloween that isn't meant to be spooky?
I guess it depends on what you mean by "spooky." If you'd allow songs that have a super Halloween-y sonic atmosphere without explicitly being about death or ghosts or monsters or whatever, then there are a ton of instrumental pieces that I'd go to on this: stuff like "Flint March" by Brian Eno, or "Oh! How the Dogs Stack Up" by Mogwai, or "Sibeling" by Depeche Mode. Otherwise, I might go with "The Killing Moon" by Echo & the Bunnymen, or "Pioneer to the Falls" by Interpol, or "The Overload" by Talking Heads.

4. What spooky short film do you recommend?
"You Are On The Fastest Available Route" does a great job of delivering on a simple, effective concept.

5. What landmark would you love to see dressed up for the season?
The Washington Monument.

1. What's a good sexy Halloween costume to wear?
A friend of mine did the best one of these ever; he dressed up in a Sexy Sexy Halloween Costume Costume. (It was a giant copy of the off-the-rack costume packages covering his torso and head, paired with fishnet stockings and heels. The costume bag ad copy itself was for aSexy Potato costume. It was glorious.)

4. What spooky short film do you recommend?
5. What landmark would you love to see dressed up for the season?
1. Sexy Jeffrey Combs from Re-Animator. Which is to say Jeffrey Combs from Re-Animator.
2. I have a couple but I'm going to say Halloween III, which has a nonsense mixed up plot and has a "too many cooks" problem but is weird and ambitious and bonkers in a wonderful way. Amazing soundtrack and it's one of those movies that's weirdly mean-spirited in a way that makes it endearing rather than a turn off.
3. Mr. Moonlight by the Beatles sounds like a great tune for a serial killer.
4. The French Doors is pretty good. Not a strong ending but otherwise spooky.
5. The Sphinx, as Garfield

2. Which ancient empire's capital would you love to spend a long weekend in?
3. Which two actors need to star in an action buddy movie now?
4. If you were in the land of Oz and were not aware the Wizard was a fraudster, what would you ask him for?
5. Which is your favourite Nicholas Sparks book?

5. Which is your favourite Nicholas Sparks book?
1. I don't like pickles but tastes change during that time so probably pickles and fruit yogurt.
2. That's tough. Is there any that doesn't have slavery? Until I know, I guess I'm going to Rome but if someone can tell me an alternative, I'll go there.
3. Bruce Campbell and Tom Holland
4. A spine
5. Safe Haven, the one where it turns out the main character's confidant was her boyfriend's girlfriend's ghost the whole time.

Johnny Unusual

(He/Him)
1) In which fictional body of water would you like to take a dip?
2) What's a great name for an alligator?
3) What's the last airline you've flown on and how was the experience?
4) Who's face would you like to end up with in a Face/Off situation?
5) What is your favourite pre-20th century novel?

Johnny Unusual

(He/Him)
1) If it wasn't so dangerous, the one from Adventure Time would be cool to explore. So probably some fountain of youth deal.
2) Croco, just to mess with some heads.
3) Man, it must have been my return from China over 5 years ago. I think it was OK? I think I might have gotten a couple seats to myself.
4) David Tennant
5) Frankenstein. It's still good.

Johnny Unusual

(He/Him)

5) What film series that you believe have NO good entries in it do you still have some affection for?

1. Squirrel Girl, full stop.
2. Neptune never did anything for me, get rid of that sucker.
3. Michelangelo
4. I’d like a Breakfast Bot; take all the effort out of that.
5. I’m going to tweak this to be “Series with one single good entry” as I can’t think of any that fit the criteria, and say Species. Genuinely enjoyed the first one, would toss the rest right in the trash

5) What film series that you believe have NO good entries in it do you still have some affection for?
1. Only semi-fictional, but the Orson Welles from the absurd interview memes
2. Mars, just to get to laugh at Musk and co.
3. Probably Mike, but Don comes as a close second.
4. Detect when an avocado has reached perfect ripeness
5. Ghostbusters

4) If you could construct a robot for one simple purpose, what would it be?
5) What film series that you believe have NO good entries in it do you still have some affection for?
1) Gosh, that's tough. Some of my favourite characters seem like they would be insufferable in real life. Still, I think I'd get on with Henchman 21, at least for an afternoon of hanging out. Oh, or Steven Universe, young or old.
2) I got to go with Octo, what does Neptune bring to the table? Pulp it, feed it's mass into Pluto and let it be a planet again
3) As a kid, Mikey but also an adult, Raph. It's not so much the cool loner thing but reading the original books as an adult, he's that but also kind of ashamed of it, which is interesting for a team hothead.
4) Cleaning my kitchen counter.
5) Friday the 13th. The first movie isn't conventionally good but it is fun, particularly the last act but even then it isn't one of the great horror film. All the same, I do like the idea and I always preferred Jason, a silent sentinel, over Freddy's sadism. I feel there's a lot of untapped potential in the series that I could see making a really good one.

1) Which fictional figure would you most want to hang out with?
Tough one. I might go with Death’s daughter Susan from the Discworld books

2) What planet in our solar system would you be happy to see go?
I’m going to stand up for Neptune here on the grounds that it’s really pretty. Of the eight major planets (that’s right I said it) I think Mercury adds the least. It’s a relatively boring gray rock that’s only interesting because of where it is.

3) Which is your favourite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle?
When I was a kid Leonardo was by far my favorite, but with the benefit of adult wisdom, I think Donatello is probably more my style.

4) If you could construct a robot for one simple purpose, what would it be?
Is “the entire laundry process” a simple enough purpose? If I can’t have a robot that will sort, wash, dry, fold and put away laundry, though, a robot that would clean all of the surfaces in my apartment would be pretty great.

5) What film series that you believe have NO good entries in it do you still have some affection for?
I honestly can’t think of one.

1) Have you ever owned a dog?
2) What did you name your favourite childhood toy?

3) Which is your favourite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle?
4) If you could construct a robot for one simple purpose, what would it be?
5) What film series that you believe have NO good entries in it do you still have some affection for?
1) Hard to say. Having created some of my own, I will admit that those are tempting, but there are a lot...
2) Scorponok destroyed Mars back around 2011 or so, and I've pretty much come to terms with it.
3) Depends on the incarnation. Fred Wolf: Michelangelo, 4Kids: Leonardo, 2012: Raphael, Rise: Donatello.
4)
5) The Lord of the Rings.

1) Have you ever owned a dog?
2) What did you name your favourite childhood toy?
3) When's the last time you drove?
4) Which object in your home would you least like to gain sentience?
5) Who is your favourite Master of the Universe?
1) Yes.
2) Most of mine came pre-named, I'm not that old.
3) Too long ago. 😿
4) That really depends upon their demeaneor. We could have a pacifist kitchen knife or a murderous teddy bear here.
5) She-Ra. No, Roboto. No, Man-at-Arms. No...
