I fail to see how a bowl of soup is a treasure. Hell, it's probaly already room temperature. |

The summary of the adventure does make it sound like the weaponthanes did most of the hard work, so maybe Arene just came up with the "Burn every last piece" part of the plan. (Which is still a suspiciously good idea for her, but at least we don't have to suspend our belief too much.)
It's time for... the Soup of Kings... it's time for THREE BEAN BROTH! |

Actually the text indicatest that that idea came from the "Gorind sages".

Good news, Dragon Pass fans! The game is coming to Android, with Vita and Windows Phone possibly in the pipes after that.
The LP will return next week, so that's good, too. |

And we're back!
Year 1038, part 4 We've decided to go for some delicious Three-Bean Broth. Its smell is pleasant to our trading partners, after all. Dark 1 We only know one of Orlanth's blessings, so sacrificing to Orlanth seems as good a way to get back in the groove as any. Yerestia suggests that Rain is the best blessing, and I'd certainly be tempted to switch to it if we got it here. That's not what happens, though. Thunderstone is a deckbuilding game by AEG where you compete to defeat the monsters that are invading your village. It's also a blessing that helps us when we choose the Skirmish tactics in battle. Dark 2 We haven't explored in some time, which puts us at risk of banditry. Let's correct that. Since it's Dark, we'll explore inside our tula. This yields more crafting materials. We're not exactly hurting for goods, but this is a good outcome nonetheless. But then Opportunity strikes! WWOD? Hospitality is one of the key virtues of the Orlanthi, but no one's feeling particularly hospitable today.Yerestia: They may or may not be willing to form an alliance when they do not know the clans hereabouts, but there is no harm in asking. Recommends #4. |

Hey, Dragon Pass fans! King of Dragon Pass is on a special over at GOG this weekend. $2.39 is a steal for this game. Issaries would be proud!

I dunno Mogri... What does the council advise?
Regarding the new folk, those are our options? "Hey look at these poor folk struggling to get here like we did. Let's bully their ass!" Ugh. #2 please. |

Maybe suggest a little passive-aggressively that a gift might just be a good idea.

Today's update brought to you a week late because I forgot to upload the images. Enjoy!
Year 1038, part 5 In case you've forgotten, we've received a band of pilgrims, who are passing through our land on their way to settle elsewhere in Dragon Pass. We've opted to give them a warm welcome. Wait, what? All I told them was that it would be a very good idea for them to gift us with their presence at dinner tonight. I don't understand how they could possibly have interpreted it this way. Oh well. We're rich(er (by a whopping five goods))! Storm 1 In our continuing quest to offload some of our massive wealth, we'll send Rostakos to the Namolding clan. The Namolding are part of the Colymar tribe, notable for being the first tribe formed in Dragon Pass, predating even our arrival here. If we were playing the Long game (by which I mean selecting the Long option in the game setup, not some sort of Ponzi scheme), we'd need to worry about diplomatic relations with the Colymar tribe. But this LP has gone on nearly a year and screw you, we're playing the Short game. To us, Colymar just means they won't be joining our tribe. Storm 2 Hey, how long has it been since we raided the hated Osgosi? Too long! As a general rule, don't send your entire army on raids. You get counter-raided if you do. This isn't our full army, but it is the Osgosi's full army. Who needs tactics? We charge directly into their skirmish, and despite losing the rock-paper-scissors matchup (skirmish beats charge but loses to maneuver) and allocating less battle magic, we clear them off the field with barely a scratch on us. Given how quickly the Osgosi churn through weaponthanes, they must be giving out internal promotions like candy. No way anyone outside the clan will sign up for that if they have any idea what's up. On the other side of Dragon Pass, Rostakos is presented with Orlanth's Rattle, which I want to say we passed up earlier in this game. But this time, we're buying it. Partially, this is because we've got riches out the wazoo. Partially, this is because I've since heard good things about it. And partially, this is because I wonder if it won't speed up the Kallyr storyline. See, Orlanth's Rattle purportedly makes your children mature faster. Remember how I mentioned that Children magic is terrible? More children is more unproductive mouths to feed. If we can make them productive faster, though, that's good. That's the theory, anyway. Arene has a spooky report for us! I'm not sure what this portends. It could be that Chaos has grown stronger while our attention is elsewhere. But we won't find out today, because it's... Sacred Time Despite giving a fair number of cows for Orlanth's Rattle, we still came out on top this year. We also nearly broke even on goods. This is what success smells like! Also, proof of concept: check out our births versus new adults. It's been roughly 2:1 pretty consistently, so let's see if Orlanth's Rattle shakes that up a bit. Interesting omen this year. Maran Gor's blessings aren't terribly useful, but we'll throw some goods her way. I've already earmarked the standard Magic allocations. What else will we do this year? Our last heroquest was in 1336. If it's time to quest again, suggest a victim. Yerestia might be a good choice, since she needs more Leadership experience under her belt. |

Quests, Health, Diplomacy, Hunting. Fill them up.
Send Heortarl on the quest. It is time he fulfilled his destiny. |

Health, Quests, Trade
And judging by her success last time we stupidly sent her out on a mission, Arene must secretly be a questing savant. Let's test this theory out! |

Just quests in addition to the usual stuff. Having a few extra magic points is handy in case we have to consult the ancients or something.
Yerestia would probably be the smart choice, but sending Arene hero questing sounds to hilarious to pass up. Oh, and raid the heck out of Osgosi. Skulls for the skull throne and all that. |
#563
|

|
|||
At what point will we have just killed all the Osgosi? Can we put some magic into genocide or something?
|

Yeah. We can't use the scroll. All that would accomplish is YASD.

No, see raiding the hated Osgosi is like milking a cow except instead of milk the tribe gets bounties of cows and goods.
I'm all for quests and diplomacy. |

...I feel impatient today.
Kill everything! Go on all the raids! Do whatever supplementary measures are necessary to accomplish this. |

Year 1339, part 1
I had the most horrible dream, guys. I dreamed I was in a large building and they made me sit there for 60 hours a week, and also I had a baby and the baby enjoyed screaming at me. It's good to be back in Glorantha. Let's just allocate our magic and we can get back to Oh. Hi. I'm not sure it's possible to completely wipe out another clan, but if you could, I'm sure it would involve combat objectives more difficult than "Plunder."Yerestia: We have them beat. There's no reason to let them off easy. Recommends #2 or #4. Last edited by Mogri; 11-11-2014 at 12:24 PM. |

I vote option 2. You don't risk driving them away but still let them know who's boss.
