Johnny Unusual

Yes @gorha

1) Seriously, you might not even know this game exists so... try guessing a TV show.
Pretty obscure game.
2) Despite the name of the games protagonist, he cannot "walk through books"
Ghumby is the name of those weirdos with the cloths on their head who speak loudly. You play one as a lead.
3) Collect breakfast foods, including a noteworthy brandname salty pork product
SPAM
4) Like the fandom, it regurgitates jokes in the least funny way possible.
See: Spam. And also a really annoying soundbite version of the argument clinic sketch
5) Jesus Christ, please stop with the random burps. There wasn't nearly this much burping in the show (though there was some).
Too many
6) Despite promising to teach us about trees, we only see one kind.
The Larch. The Larch

Summon for hire

That looks like a game with a lot of creative ideas that’s probably extremely irritating to actually play...

You were right, I had no idea they made a game of Flying Circus. "They" being Core Design, apparently? The makers of Tomb Raider? That's wild.

1. This game has quite a legacy behind it. It's the sequel to a spin-off of a spin-off of a spin-off of a spin-off.

2. In some ways, it looks more like the games at the beginning of that genesis than the later ones.

3. Features five main characters from previous games. By complete coincidence, this is an RPG with five party slots.

Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2

(Though I think that's only an RPG sequel to a spin-off of a spin-off.)

Persona Q2
Yep.

The sequel to Persona Q, a spin-off of the Persona series, a spin-off of Shin Megami Tensei if..., a spin-off of the Shin Megami Tensei series, a spin-off of the Megami Tensei series (itself loosely based on a book series)

2. In some ways, it looks more like the games at the beginning of that genesis than the later ones.
It has first person dungeons, like the MT and early SMT games, but unlike the 21st century Persona games whose characters appear in it. Also, all the SMT demons that act as personas in this game were designed by that series' long time artist, Kazuma Kaneko, with none of the ones by other artists from the 3DS games making an appearance.

3. Features five main characters from previous games. By complete coincidence, this is an RPG with five party slots.
It has five party slots because its gameplay mechanics are taken from Etrian Odyssey. The main characters of Persona 3, 4 and 5, plus the female main character from P3 Portable and Aigis, who acted as the main in the bonus content from P3 FES, are all available as party members, but Aigis doesn't get treated like a main character the way the others do.
