The Trailer Thread - Room with a Preview

Johnny Unusual

This movie looks *lowers shades* dangerously cheesy.

Seriously though, it does look very... seriously I want to say cornball or saccharine but everything is turning into a pun that ironically can also be described as the words I am using.

I heard about it because people are excited about the Latino representation which is neat to see and hopefully pans out. Also female Latina director.

Even when you know this brand (Archie) goes in surprising directions, it still manages to surprise you:

Zathras warn this would happen, but no one listen to Zathras. *tsk tsk tsk*

What! Whaaat! Whaaaaaaat! !!!

Hot damn. Seriously having a hard time processing that something new actually made it to production. Hope it’s good!

Of all the possible game franchises to base a TV series on I guess this is one of them.

(But maybe it would have been better to pick a franchise with a more recent release than over 10 years ago.)

(But the show does look amusing in a very dumb way.)

I mean I gotta be honest my first thought is that the executives' discussion was probably something like "oh shit they've got a gran turismo movie, that's that ps1 game isn't it" "yeah, it is" "will it do numbers" "probably, especially to a global audience" "fuck me, what do we have that's like that. do we have anything" "well, there's twisted metal, it's a ps1 car game...kinda?" "fuckin fund that shit yesterday"

can stop, will stop
I'm getting some weird uncanny valley vibes from Anya Taylor-Joy in that trailer, but I'm not sure why. Kinda excited for it anyway.
The trailer for a queer (in all sense of the word) horror movie that's been getting a lot of great critical buzz at festivals came out today. Posting because I thought it might be up the alleys of some people here, but you might not have heard about it yet if you don't follow film festival news.

Threat Rhyme

I really want this to be good but it's a decades-later sequel and the track record for those aren't great. Maybe they'll beat the odds?

Hard agree. Easily the best thing about this, even if it does suggest a trilogy.
