I love that image.I'm just imagining Al Pacino ripping open one of these comics with a knife and saying, "I knew it! It's G. I. Joe Combat! You cheated me!"
Nitpick: G.I. Combat significantly predates G.I. Joe.

Oof, Dragon Warrior 1-4 complete in box, jealous. You can get a Twin Famicom (which is what I recommend since it comes with A/V out capability, regular Famicoms either need to be modded or your TV has to go up to channels 98 and 99 to use the RF connector) for probably about $80-100 with a repaired drive belt from Japan, which is what I did, using Sendico. Highly recommend it. Prepare to sit right against your TV though, since those controller cables are SHORT lol. I ended up getting one of these for my Twin Famicom combined with an 8bitdo wireless adapter/NES controller wireless mod so I don't have to sit on the floor, and it's worked with every game I've thrown at it, including NES games in a NES to Famicom adapter. Still, that gets expensive. The book series is called Femtendo, and I'm chronicling various women and female characters who appeared on the NES/Famicom chronologically. I'm photographing everything for the book and keeping about 70% of it because it's something that I'd like to play someday, it's neat to have or stars a woman/female character as playable.
I did a collection video right after my most recent shipment from Japan, so this might be the best way to SEE what I have for both systems. I timestamped it so the NES/Famicom stuff pops up. It's a little fuzzy but I think the majority of it is decipherable, lol. Someday I'll be able to afford a high end video camera.
At the moment I lack any hardware to do anything with the games, but eventually I'd like to get a Famicom and Disk System and try these out.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it It's a very easy "pick up and put down" book by design, and I hope you enjoy it when you find time to look through itI didn't realize you already published a volume. I should pay more attention lol. Anyway, I bought a copy since it's a cool idea. I'll be honest though, I don't know when I'll read it - I've got a pile of books to work through already, so don't expect feedback for a bit haha
To be fair, it's the reprint that Castlemania Games did a couple years back of the Famicom version as a NES cart. Still happy to have it, tho.Im jelly of that boxed copy of Metalstorm. As a wee lad I somehow got the cart of the game and I had never seen anything like it nor had anyone else I knew. It seemed like this magic game that only I had or knew about.
Literally the next day after that:
The fuck is going on?
