Keeping straight which Namco Anthology is which is very headachy. Particularly since some games are redundant... I think?

Namco Museum is all arcade games. Namco Museum Archives is all Famicom games. The distinction is much clearer in Japan, where the latter is called Namcot Collection—"Namcot" being Namco's brand for console releases from when they were mainly an arcade developer.

I'm not sure whether there's a better place to ask, but I'm doing a little Xmas shopping, and I was wondering if there were any currently-active general discount codes for the Square Enix Store? Tax and shipping are kinda brutal -- literally more than 50% of what the subtotal is. I'd love to be able to shave some of that off, if I can.

Best thing to do honestly is send the order to someone in the states who can then forward the package to you.

I honestly don't know that would make it any better. Plus, I'm hoping it might get here by Christmas, so there's that as well.

Edit: I just ran a US address to see how much it would be, and checking a package I received earlier, I imagine at BEST I'd end up paying the same amount in the end. That's why I was hoping I could shave more off the product side.

The SE often does free shipping for orders within the US, I thought?

Kazin

did i do all of that?
(he/him)
I think it's free shipping in the US if you spend $75 or more, if I remember correctly.

Hm, spent more than that, but free shipping wasn't given as an option.

It doesn't matter now, though; the order is placed.

Limit two (2) 14-day codes or one (1) 30-day code or one (1) 14-day code plus one (1) 30-day code equaling a maximum of 44 days total per KFR member/account.

Still a good deal

Related and maybe this has been a thing for a while and I just noticed, but if you have GamePass there's a 30 day trial of Disney+ available in the perks section. Looks like it has to be redeemed by January 31st though.

So buy a box of snacks and get a lot of free stuff I guess!? I'm excited to finally watch a lot of the Disney+ stuff.

Thank you for this! I bought an Xbox controller for my PC and it came with a GamePass trial, so I guess I get a Disney+ trial too! Time to watch The Mandalorian! And maybe finally watch Rise of Skywalker.

Gravity is overrated.
Bomber Crew, a real time strategy game similar to FTL: Faster than Light is currently free on Humble Bundle for a little over two days from now. Plays well with KBM or Controller too.

Star Wars Battlefront II (the recent one, not the PS2 one) is free in the Epic Store today. I played some of the single player with my nephew when it was new, and I can safely say that it is worth free.

Star Wars Battlefront II is my favorite multiplayer game of this gen. The single player sucks though. Get on that free stuff.

Just echoing SpoonyBard's post for my american fellows:

I couldn't find a games deal thread so I thought I'd point out here there's a few good deals on in the eShop right now.

Like the Contra Anniversary collection (and Castlevania too I think, but I already had it bought and couldn't see the price) for 75% off!

Battlefield 1 is 99 cents at Gamestop. I've never played anything in the series but seem to remember there's some questionable stuff although it's a vague memory. Is it worth trying, or something I should reconsider supporting even for only a dollar?

The current free Epic Games Store game is Dandara, an exploration platformer with the gimmick that you can basically only move through the space by doing grappling-hook-esque jumps. I could see the gimmick not working for everyone, but I enjoyed it a lot when I played it. It's also realatively short, under 10 hours even if you're being pretty completionist about it, so it's not a huge commitment. I think it's deifnitely worth a shot if it looks at all up your alley.

(I played the version before the updated version being shown in the trailer below and that is currently free on EGS, but presumably the update hasn't made the game worse...)

The update made the auto map actually functional (previously it was... really not up to the task of helping you navigate considering the games structure). Presumably it changed other things too, but that alone was the game changed for me
