Crave is losing all its trek in Canada by end of the month. I cancelled! Now to p+ I guess
I thought P+ wasn't available on Canada? Which is why I'm able to just watch SNW on cable TV. Am I mistaken?

Anyway, as for the most recent ep, I loved 90% of it, but due to personal hang-ups I'm always going to take a dim view of infidelity.

The internet tells me P+ launched in Canada on March 4th, 2021.

My understanding of things was that protective Canadian media laws made it so that any show filmed in Canada must have its rights optioned to Canadian media companies to air on Canadian TV. I imagine so that all the filming that happens in Canada isn't just a one-way enrichment of American media companies, and that Canadian broadcasting can still benefit. My memory is often wrong though, and so might be this impression.

I loved 90% of it, but due to personal hang-ups I'm always going to take a dim view of infidelity.
I think I hear Ross Geller's music playing...

P+ at current sucks.

Trek offerings are disc1-4, picard1 and the three kelvin movies. So I'll see what they have beginning of August then bail. Thoughts are they will get stuff post crave. Apparently CTV SciFi will continue to show new eps

Someone out there probably thinks this week’s episode crossed over a line in how much pandering it did.

But that hypothetical person has a deficit of joy in their life and I truly pity them.

Oh so they're premiering it early?? what shame I'll have to make time for it before Thursday. Thanks for letting us know :)

I had a big dumb smile on my face that entire episode. They absolutely delivered on the potential for that crossover. And apparently the episode dropping on Thursday is gonna be a musical??!

another joyful take of the new episode, was amaaaaaaaaazing to see Mariner "in-person." Boimler as well obviously but we've all got favourites. Short skit at the end was super-fun too.

With all the talk about the new season, I finally started watching this show again. Rewatched the two first episodes, which I had already seen. Just saw the third one (the one about the Illyrians and that light addiction disease).

As the other two times I watched a single episode, I find this to be an absolutely excellent show. I guess what I really want out of Trek is not continous storylines and intergalactic politics, but just planet-of-the-week episodes with interesting moral questions and cool, interesting concepts. Just the intro alone ("We are visiting planet x, where the inhabitants are y and z,...) felt so beautifully classic Trek. I love it.

I think what I also appreciate about this show, and Trek in general, is how the characters are actually adults. I'm probably forgetting some shows, but at least here, there is no unnecessary melodrama. Everyone is a professional, and very capable, able to think on the fly and solve weird, new problems. And they work together. It's delightful to see people working together efficiently and competently.

It helps that this crew is amazing. Everyone. Everyone feels like they are the best of the best, and that they have earned their post on the flagship of the Federation. Number 1 in particular won me over this episode.

So, I hope the same thing as the last two times doesn't happen again, where I love the episode, and then stop watching. I want to catch up to this apparently amazing, second season.

Well the latest episode might be up early on streaming but it's not available On Demand in my cable package, so I guess that's going to follow the original schedule. Unless we get both episodes on Thursday when the next one airs.

Those Old Scientists was predictably delightful. Couldn't have asked for a better blending of these two styles of comedy.
