This is... mildly disappointing? So many FF characters to choose from and we get yet another FFVII character.

But at the very least, there will probably be more than 3 Final Fantasy tracks in Smash Ultimate now.

Seriously, they could have gone with Umaro! The anime sword representation in Smash is already overflowing, but the sasquatch representation is pitiful by comparison!

yea a little bit. I'm not super annoyed because personal attachment and the release itself is fun, but my ideal smash is a curation of interesting game characters across all sorts of franchises and derived from passions. I've mostly given up on that after the rush of FE characters, but no one can stop me from fantasy.

also idk if i like the feeling im getting from the small sampling of moveset

i've come down on the side that this is objectively funny, and "sephiroth shows up and PWNZ the final boss and then everyone has to fight him!!!!" is very much in keeping with the spirit of the smash bros franchise
