Normal enemies in a Warriors game are like the coins in Mario. They're not obstacles at all, but rather they're the guide that tells you where you need to be going.
It really depends on the Musou game. Yes, most are calibrated so that your average encounters are pushovers. But I've played a few where things were a fair bit more challenging during your moment-to-moment gameplay. At least, during the learning curve section of the game. The Fist of the North Star Musou game from a number of years ago springs to mind.If I remember correctly, the normal enemies did play a role in Hyrule/FE Warriors’ base mechanics, where the more manage to get inside one of yours, the more quickly its defense deteriorates. Outside of bases though yeah, they are just there to sponge up hits.
You're not wrong...Hyrule Warriors is also really fantastic for when you only have a half hour to play.
I may have emailed the AoC trailer to my mom, calling it a "BOTW prequel".
I enjoyed the campaign of Hyrule Warriors well enough, but did not have a spare 10,000 hours to do all the extra content. I had actually been waffling over whether to re-buy it on Switch to take another crack at it, but I'll just get this instead.
And that Champion is secretly Linkle. She darn well better be the secret Fifth Champion

For real, right? It's either going to totally throw out all the emotional weight of the story or be just the best example of ludonarrative dissonance ever. How is it possible that I agree with everything Beat says but am still hype to play this?
My personal favorite was a specific Sanada Yukimura ending in the first Samurai Warriors. The moment I was made aware of this my mind instantly went to that. Except in this the in-canon odds are a lot more overwhelming.Musou games have shown they can represent defeat pretty well.
OG HYRULE WARRIORS GOT RELEASED 3 SEPARATE TIMES WITH THAT PLOT AND NOBODY KNOWS HOW OR WHY.
