I definitely remember the live version being a thing passed around for years, presumably how and why they spent the money to make the music vid in the first place. So I'd say the original might be the bigger nostalgia bit.

This specific video is only 6 years old but it's a compilation of videos that meet the age requirement to be considered 'classic'.

I'm not 100% certain this original vid is over 10 years old (this is a recent reupload, cannot find the original anywhere) but I'm fairly sure it is.
This song is more or less the reason we got the Resurrection F movie to begin with. And while there are a number of AMVs using it, THIS is the one I remember watching a bunch.

it's really funny up until the final held stare, which should have been the end of the video. everything that happens after that is over egging the pudding and makes it worse, then you get the end bit showing the game which is anti-funny and makes the whole video bad overall

that first bit though, funny stuff.

Disagree, I like how it feels like a series of sketches in one sketch, with no piece outstaying its welcome before moving onto the next.

But my sense of humour is known to be rubbish, so.

On this viewing I did also feel conditioned to expect the final punchline to be “8/10 - IGN” after one of the damning quotes.

Yes, I disagree too. The last bit is the actual punchline; the whole joke is that the internal logic of videogames is completely nonsensical.
