Given it's Digital Eclipse handling this, I would not expect them to smash the 3 DS3 versions together. Unless they decide to surprise us with Hyper Darkstalkers 3 or something, but DE tends to prioritize authenticity over anything else (sometimes to the port's detriment).

USF2 uses the art from HD Remix but is, gameplay wise, another attempt to rebalance Super Turbo that starts from the original and does its own alterations.

They've essentially thrown together Parries, Alpha Counters, Focus Attacks, and Dash Cancels, which all draw from the EX gauge.

It probably won't be nearly as cool, but I'm imagining Yakuza but Final Fight/Metro City as the setting and Street Fighter as the combat engine for the single player.

I keep on buying the games (IV, V) and then only play them for 2 hours. Combination of frustration with combos and systems, not having an arcade stick, and not seeing a real goal or conclusion in mind. A good single player campaign could draw me in.
And the designs for the female characters seem at least a little less ridiculously sexualized than they were in V, which would be nice.
Hey the roster leaked, lots of new fighters, 22 in total. There's a screenshot of official art if you dig around, a lot of the new people look cool. They brought back Focus Attacks AND Focus Attack Dash Cancels, but it costs meter. Alpha Counters are back, and they all have different names for maximum confusion. Luke looks stupid and Jamie also looks incredibly stupid. We'll see.

After some searching I think those are supposed to be ball-headed war clubs (but I think those are Native American).

That was my first thought, too - and that would make sense since the sport is somewhat popular in Mexico. And they making sense is why they can't be that.

ANYWAY I'm so stoked. I like that there is a ton of defensive/escape options, good risk reward as well.
The "Modern" control mode may help. Basically boils it down to 3 attack buttons, 1 super button.. Fireball is forward and super, dragon bunch down and super. and so on!
