They finally gave Cammy some pants this time around (or I guess trousers, since she’s British)! Still, some of her poses are pretty male gaze-y. I guess my search for a Street Fighter game I can play in front of my wife without embarrassment will continue.

Have you tried Street Fighter 1 or Street Fighter X Mega Man?
I played and enjoyed SFxMM, and I just plain played SF1. It's true that neither of them are embarrassing with respect to character design, though with SF1 it's a bit embarrassing how easily and consistently the AI opponents hand me my head.

ExpOwl: That game is unbalanced as hell and feels like it's being held together with Scotch tape. Maybe if I do the fireball move four or five times, it'll actually come out! Sheesh. No wonder fireballs do so much damage in the original Street Fighter... they're almost impossible to perform!
Have you tried using Negative Edge?
So I picked this up and was able to almost immediately determine that I completely love it, and the addition of the Modern Control system to make it basically Smash Brothers means I can finally play as a grappler effectively, and I love it.
But my god, this has to be the worst boxart Capcom ever produced, and it’s staring me right in the face every time I turn on my Xbox. Mega Man 1 is at least charmingly terrible.

It doesn't even fit Luke's characterization in the game. They go to great lengths to present him as an emotionally supportive bro dude, especially in his World Tour mentor role, and the minutiae about him leans toward framing him as "relatable"--all video games and junk food with this guy, just like you the player. So to have the game's single most important and prevalent promotional image being him striking a bizarre expression somewhere between cocky and obnoxious... it doesn't fit the game's larger ethos and attitude, and it doesn't fit the character. Just baffling.
This game is incredible.

Also been messing around with Guile, Deejay, and Lily. Absolutely fabulous.
World Tour is so fun too. You run into Retsu from sf1. I did not see that coming!

Angrybird was an absolute champ and though I’m no Ken fan he was fantastic. Respect for letting the match ride after Menard had controller issues instead of taking an auto win with everything on the line. Also mad props to Menard for the Memphis Reset.
I watched the teaser for the new character. So is it just me, or does A.K.I. seem to have kind of the same personality as Juri, except that she’s also a nerd about poisons?
I went to bed after Guilty Gear and watched the SF6 finals tonight. Really great matches. I was glad to see Haitani making top 6 with modern controls; my fear for this game's competitive scene was that modern would either end up so weak that players who preferred it would just drop the game once it was shown to be not really viable, or so strong that classic controls become obsolete. Looks like neither of those is the case, so this game should have a bright future.
