Switch ports of the Dragon Quest Monsters games we didn't get localized on 3DS would be nice but I would just be happy if that 3DS remake of Dragon Quest VII made its way to other platforms. I mean, there's already iOS and Android versions (in Japan) but it'd be awesome if the game was on a few more platforms.
I would second this so hard if it weren't for the fact that I know this wish will be monkey-pawed into an anthology of mobile ports.

Okay, offline Dragon Quest X is something I can get behind. Just gotta wonder if we actually get it.
EDIT: Welp, guess I'll be playing through Dragon Quest III... again. Looks like they're using the Octopath Traveler engine.
EDIT 2: Dragon Quest XII. I mean, yeah, we knew it would happen eventually. I want some footage, though, dang it!

Apparently 12 is ditching the turn based battles and is "A Dragon Quest for adults" or something along those lines, so... eh.

seeing the cave you blow a hole in the wall of at the beginning of the game from this angle is a lot more jarring than i thought possible

I'm lukewarm on DQ3 remake. They go back to that well sooooo much, and I'm kind of over it being remade yet again. Especially if what Horii said was true and after that they'll do 1&2 in that style too. Like... ya'll have more than DQ 1-3 to draw from, you know?
I'm somewhat underwhelmed. It's nice to have 12 exist in an official capacity, even though we all knew it for a while now, and the remake of 3 looks incredible, I'm super excited for it, except for the fact that it being from the Zenithian trilogy would have been even better. But still not getting 4-6 on switch, and no remake of 9 make me sad. 
I'm intrigued by X Offline. A version that pulls out the MMO stuff to make an experience consistent with the other mainline games is them recognizing there's an audience that's interested in the game but finds the online stuff a barrier. I wonder if this also makes it a prospect for localization. I'd easily pick it up just to have played X in some capacity even if the quests are a lot of "collect X wyvern tails" MMO design.
Guess 4-6 are still gonna be bonkers expensive for the foreseeable future.

I'm OK with the DQ3make - they're testing the waters with a safe version. If the original trilogy in this new engine sells like hotcakes no way we won't get more.
Well, certainly looks like I’m buying DQ3, again.
Now I'm glad I held off on buying the mobile port of DQ3 on Switch.
Also, I really hope this suggests a willingness at S-E to remake other SNES RPGs in that style because hot damn...

"Dragon Quest for adults." Sigh. I thought we were past that trend. When video games bill themselves as being "for adults," what they usually mean is "for angsty teenage boys." "Mature" and "adult" really mean "adolescent." Speaking for myself, I'm a bona fide adult, pushing 40 with the aches and pains to prove it, and I'd be much more embarrassed to be caught playing Prince of Persia: Warrior Within than a Kirby game.
I think they're kind of setting themselves up for a wonky comparison by presenting and framing the incredibly gorgeous SFC remake of III as an "evolutionary" step toward Octopath leftovers. I'm not that much into that aesthetic on its own, but its direct application atop the bones of Dragon Quest just seems like a weird hybridization that's too literal to really benefit either source ingredient. I'll play it for the battle sprites and animations, I guess, and hope I and II get their turn.
X offline in any form is what's really the most interesting thing here. I can't even imagine how long ago I would've played through the online FFs if such an alternative existed for them--and DQX has taunted me with its playable giant ogre women ever since it came out. Just let me live my best fake offline online life.
