Let's get this finished, shall we?

Yes, though it may not be a good one and I may have missed how the rules work.
Golem and my trap in D1. I'll explain my battle strategy after it's over. I think it was the right move, but I missed something in Autumn 2 that could have locked up the game for me. |

Looking over my notes... is your last trap ALSO a Trap Door?

I'm assuming your battle strategy was to keep me from having an uncontested Battlelord title, which is a 5 point swing (-3 for me, +2 for you). More than makes up for the 4 points you lose for not capturing those last 2 adventurers.
I'll admit I'm curious what else you think you could have done in Autumn though. Only thing I can think of is grabbing the paladin and possibly the evil title by releasing a monster. |

But you gave up several adventurers to get it. I'm not sure that was a good tradeoff.

Well, he in effect gained 5 points and lost 4. Arguably worth it.

Man, that assumes that Aerdan and I aren't contenders. I am not comfortable with that assumption.

This is true (plus it wasn't clear when he started using it that Aerdan wouldn't be able to clean up his guys with minimal losses).

My last trap is also a trap door.
At the start of the battle round, only the Evil, Riches, and Battle titles were still up for grabs. I had two choices: let the adventurers conquer two tiles and conquer them all easily, or only let them conquer one tile and only capture one adventurer. Since conquered tiles are -2 and captured adventurers are +2, the first choice nets me +2 while the second leaves me even. However, if only losing one tile instead of two pulls me even or gives me the lead in just one title, the second strategy is the better one. Since (given point totals and titles going into the battle round) Kjara is going to be the one I'm vying with for first, and he's got the Hall of Fame, any title I split with him instead of being his outright is effectively +5 for me. The strategy worked as I intended; without it, Kjara would have sole possession of Evillord and Battlelord and win by about 6. I managed to tie Battlelord but couldn't do anything about Evillord (congrats Kjara, I never would have guessed you had so many Trap Doors). What I could have done in Autumn was to take Food either instead of Gold or Rooms. After the planning session, it was clear that Kjara would take Food first. If I take it, I get bumped up to Paladin-level evil (netting me an extra 3 points on capturing him) and I tie Evillord with Kjara. That would have been much better than what I did. I didn't think of punting on the adventurers' capture until after autumn, and was afraid of not being able to capture the Paladin and having a room captured. In retrospect, that sunk me. |

Final round. Fight!
Create Food (Fast) - The first adventurer gains an extra hit point. [2 Fatigue] Gerad uses Trap Door. It's not very effective... Gerad attacks with Golem. Lv8 Warrior is knocked out! Lv7 Thief and Lv8 Thief depart Gerad's dungeon. Lv5 Priest is knocked out! Adventurers conquer Aerdan's Training Room. Lv5 Thief departs the dungeon. Code:

Congratulations, Kjara, and a particularly excellent use of table talk. Every time I try that in any kind of game, everyone points out how it obviously works to my advantage and they gang up against me. Maybe my friends are just much more cynical than you all.
Thanks a lot, Mogri! I had a lot of fun! You also convinced me to buy the hard copy of the game. |

Mission accomplished.
If you enjoyed Dungeon Lords, try Space Alert! I would love to LP it except that it's completely impossible to do so: the game is played in real time. |

I'll admit I made a mistake as well, I should have grabbed an imp in autumn instead of a trap. I was conflicted between grabbing a demon to try to challenge for Lord of riches (in which case my combat calculations determined I needed an additional trap to deal with the adventurers without loss) or the ghost that I ended up taking. Should have just washed my hands of the riches and gone for the imp points. Thanks Mogri, it was a heck of a lot of fun, even if I did waste a bit too much time calculating out probabilities at one point only to have the lowest chance event happen . |

Speaking of things no one knew about, that first combat card? I totally shouldn't have known about it, and I totally did. I think I would've ended up negative if I had fed my dragon to it.

I suspect that had you not known about it, you would have had both your dragon and your witch out in the room at A1, so you likely would have just lost the witch to it. Would have set you back a bit though.

That probably would have hurt me if I had attracted the paladin; I forgot about their magic. I think I still could have stalled out and ended up ahead 26-23, though.
