I think you missed my imps action. For monsters, I'd like a Golem.
Yeah, I saw you all needed gold and was trying to get someone with it. Sorry about that. I think we've only had two wasted actions (an early Rooms and this Gold). Are there usually more? |

High5 Gerad! Didn't really need to take Gold myself, but was hoping you would take it if I did .
I'll take the Hall of Fame at A2. Edit: Gerad should be down a food for his imp though? Edit2: You flipped your and Aerdan's adventurer's again too . Last edited by Kjara; 04-17-2012 at 12:17 AM. |

It's easy to avoid wasting actions if you just take actions that are unavailable to other players. If you're not the last player, then you can also take comfort in the fact that your first action won't be interrupted. It's a little more complicated for the Rooms action, where you can get shafted if you're the first one to take the action. Monsters suffer from the same problem to some extent -- you can end up with something you really don't want. In practice, of course, you end up with situations like this where everyone wants the same action. I took Gold last so that I could take Traps this season and the next, and I ended up not being able to take a trap at all. Them's the breaks. |

Summer 2 resolution
Gerad buys a Golem for 1 Gold and 1 Trap. Kjara takes the Hall of Fame. Kjara produces 1 Gold. Gerad produces 1 Gold. Aerdan may produce up to two Imps. I'll keep my Gold action, making Traps unavailable instead. Adventurers pick their dungeons: The goody two-shoed Aerdan gets the Lv5 Priest (4, **). The mischievous Mogri picks up a Lv5 Wizard (4, **). The spiteful Kjara grabs a Lv6 Thief (5, **). The kitten-kicking Gerad attracts a Lv8 Thief (6, ***). And now it's time for taxes! Mogri pays 4 Gold and takes one red mark. Kjara pays 3 Gold. Gerad pays 3 Gold. Aerdan pays 3 Gold. Autumn 2 The following monsters are available for purchase: Ghost (1 Evil) Demon (1 Evil, 1 Monster) Demon (1 Evil, 1 Monster) Demons deal 7 damage to any adventurer and prevent conquering and fatigue. The following rooms are available for purchase: Antimagic Room Wizards can't cast their spells in an antimagic room. Or maybe they just don't want to. Training Room "Eye of the Tiger" is pumped continually into this room, increasing Goblin and Troll damage by 1. If your Goblin kills a dude, then the secondary attack is also 1 point stronger. An event approaches At the end of autumn, it's payday. Pay your monsters' costs or give them the boot! Adventurers! Our last group of adventurers: Lv5 Thief (4, **) Lv6 Priest (5, **) Lv7 Warrior (7) Lv7 Thief (5, ***) Code:

Player order there is incorrect? You should be last and I should be first?
Gerad didn't lose his trap or gold from his golem purchase. I used 2 imps on gold/Gerad used 3 so we can only produce 1 gold in production buildings? Finally, Gerad's Golem doesn't show up under his monsters . Glad I'm not trying to make these posts, so much to keep track of. Question: Is table talk allowed? |

The situation as I see it, Unless Mogri and Aerdan go room with their last action, then Gerad will get a room and his combat will go like this:
Slime + Golem in room Slime + Golem in room Warrior dies Golem in tunnel (loss of tunnel if he lacks a trap that doesn't prevent conquering otherwise no loss) Thief at either 1(if trap used) or dead due to fatigue Golem + Vampire in room, fatigue likely kills off the last guy if he used a trap in the previous round, otherwise monsters kill last guy Thus he loses at most 1 tunnel (and possibly 0), this gives him somewhere between 4 and 6 titles: Monsterlord (as he has 4 monsters and no one else can get 4 monsters--Ghosts don't count and Demons are effectively -1 monsters) Battlemaster (possibly shared) as he loses at most 1 room so if Aerdan loses at least 1 room... Lord of Dark Deeds (possibly shared, since he will be at 9 evil after payday and might drop to 8 with the tunnel loss) Tied for rooms (3 rooms) Tied for "Lord of the Imps" unless Aerdan can get an extra imp (he needs at least 3 food this round to afford this and his payday, I'm willing to play in such a way to insure this happens) Lord of Riches: He has a lot of gold, however, this one is less clear who will actually win, I can possibly challenge this one if I grab a demon to avoid having to pay food costs. However, if you guys stop him from getting a room, he will need to lose at least 2 tunnels before he can fight in a room and use his Golem + Slime combo, thus giving the rest of us a chance (plus won't tie for the Room title, and this might cause him to lose Dark Deeds or Battlemaster). Of course, you both may have already seen this. Feel free to rebut if I got anything wrong Gerad. I did want to ask Mogri though: how does it feel to be a kingmaker? One of the last lots to come up was one that was obviously desirable for another player. If she got it, she had the game in a handbag. I looked at it, realized that I could make a difference, and bid my entire bank on it. She outbid me and went on to lose the game narrowly as a result. She was furious for the rest of the night. Incidentally, I had planned on picking up a room this time around... |

I don't think I can quibble with any of this. Of course, if Aerdan and Mogri take Rooms last, Kjara locks up exclusive Lord of Halls, +2 for Hall of Fame, and doesn't have to do anything with his own actions. He also sets up well for Battlelord and can challenge for Lord of Riches (and potential +2s from Hall of Fame) with his Dark Room, witch, and vampire.
Funny how it seems to work that way. |

Eh, I figured that would happen. I think Kjara's got the best chance of us all now. He's actually in a lot better shape for Lord of Riches than I thought he would be.
Aerdan: You don't really want a room, do you? They're all big and scary, not cozy like those nice tunnels you have now... In hindsight, I should have been more aggressive with rooms earlier -- I had plenty of funds and actions, but was too afraid of getting edged out when I couldn't assure myself of one. Lesson learned, I guess. |

I don't think you can write yourself off just yet though. You still have 7 points from monsters and Monsterlord and will lose at most 2 tunnels. I feel like this is going to be close. I'd like to hope I have a chance though. I've been wrong before though, I figured both of you would lose at least 2 tunnels in the first round of combat. I can see my Trap choice before picking a Monster right? Edit: Oh, and my Monster action should be free (well just the cost of the monster)? Thought it was only the 3rd one that cost a food. Nm, got confused since you didn't list all 3 people in monster. I should pay a food. Last edited by Kjara; 04-18-2012 at 05:22 PM. |

I was closer to losing zero than two, I think. If I could've just gotten a Cursed Ring or Trapdoor, I think I would have had a good chance at pulling it off. Depends on the exact trap selection.

I think the 2nd to last table was correct, you should have 4 evil and Aerdan should have 3. I may have missed something though. (This would have you being correct about hitting 10 had you gotten the ghost)
