Default "You... took her MEASUREMENTS?" Let's Play Princess Maker 2!

Hi everybody! Are you ready to join me in a heartwarming tale of swords, love, and sleazy bars? Well then, come join me as I LP...

Yes. Princess Maker 2 is one of a series of games by Studio Gainax. I am using DOSBOX to play the game, since this is the only way I really can. You play the role of a father, who used to be a demon lord-slaying, bar-wench kissing wandering swordsman until one day, he sees a light in the sky. Given to him by the Gods, a young, ten year old naked girl must be raised until she reaches adulthood, where she chooses her own path.

Or rather, the player, or in this case, you, do.

The game is a raising sim: you can have your little darling work for he own money (going to your pockets), go to school (for a lot of money), fight things (at age 10!), and schmooze up the residents of the palace, among other things. The game has around 300 different endings, all of which are different, and depend on your daughter's stats and what she has been doing in her life. Perhaps a general in the king's Army? A bondage queen?

In any case, before we begin, we have some things to go through. )And I apologize for the cursor being in the way.):

Our family name.

Our daughter's name.

Our daughter's birthday, which affects who her patron god is, based on the Greek Pantheon. Except with the names the Romans used. Pft.

Our age and birthday, but nobody actually cares... *sniff*

And our daughter's blood type. Yes, seriously! It's important in Japan!

Now, all of you boys and girls, go ahead and suggest options for these! I'll accept mostly anything, as long as I can spell it. Or you guys can press the Satonakaja button and see what obscure anime references pop out.

Some nice naming suggestions I've heard on the IRC Channel:
Mary Sue. Perfect, and born on Christmas, of course!
Nanako Dojima, with either Ryotaro or Tohru Adachi as the father.
Boo Sullivan, with a lad named Sulley as the father.
Pearl Fey, in case you wanted to feel bad when horrific things happen.

There were a bunch more but someone threw the paper I wrote them on away. I'll probably choose the names and birthdays I see the most support for, and it doesn't have to be one of these. Keep checking for the next heartwarming update! Or child-abusing one. It's in your hands.

EDIT: One more thing: If anyone wants to suggest what I'll be commanding our little darling to do for the first few months, fire away! I'll try to include it no matter how much it disturbs me. Or her.

Name her Grape Geuse, and give her a spring birthday with Venus watching over her. Like, April 30 so you don't miss out on any of the first month.

And...O, I guess.

I still say the family name should be Brickroad.

Let's go with B type, for no real reason.

I say the father's age and birthday should be as young as possible, so that our hero is a young fool who was totally unprepared for the joys of fatherhood... because, really, it's more likely than you think.

I still think the name should be <3 Mary Sue <3. For birthday, it's either Christmas (December 25) or February 29. For blood type, definitely O, but it doesn't really matter. But if this one fails to garner significant support, I'm also totally okay with Hoopzina Barkley.

Look, if we're going down that road, we might as well give her the most appropriate name:

Mary Sue all the way

Hoopz would also be an acceptable choice.

I've gotta go with Boo Sullivan. Mary Sue only thematically works if you're going Full Princess on this one.

Birthday: April 20
Blood Type: A+
Dad's Birthday: March 15

Work on her muscles, since dungeons are the easiest way to get cash and the surest route to the "bad" endings.

I emphatically request that we do not name her Mary Sue!

But other than that, anything is fine, really.

Also make her born on August 8th. Just cuz.

I'm voting for Mary Sue, but only because I really doubt you'll accept my nomination of "Vapidbitch McDumbface".

You have to play through multiple times so you can use all these hilarious names.

Remember, readers, that the best names take advantage of the fact that her surname is her father's given name.

I'm surprised to see no one's suggest Lady.

Personally, I suggest Rorita.

Aw, come on, guys. Sharkey's got the lock on Rorita-as-PM-heroine. Let's let the classics be classics.

Well if we want to bow to precedent, Lizzie is also worth consideration.

Fair enough.

Okay, changing my vote. Instead of going with the crowd I'm gonna intentionally misspell a popular Cave Story character's name suggest Kali Bruce.

I suggest her canon name, Olive, since I've never heard of anyone actually using it.
