Nancy can be put to work, too! She gets paid the amount shown for every day she does her job correctly. Every job raises and lowers different stats. Finally, as our little girl grows up, she'll be able to take more... mature jobs. I know you're all eager to get Nancy to murder things, but she doesn't even have a weapon yet! But the option is there. It is in our best interest to do so though: there is a lot of profit to be had in sending your ten-year-old-daughter to fight monsters alone. As far as I know, Mr. Pants is not a stereotypical Asian parent, and will in fact let Nancy have some free time. Anyway, let's start Nancy off with something simple. Like working on the farm. The things we put on the calendar are placed in blocks, so Nancy may be cleaning the house for a few weeks and going to fencing school the next week. You do have to remember that the costs and things shown on the buttons are per day, though, so you don't end up paying a few hundred gold (out of your starting 500) instead of the expected thirty-forty while paying for magic classes or other things. Oh and you have to remember to feed her. Riiiight. Nancy: "This sounds fun! There's gonna be A-MIN-ALS! Nancy: "But that guy in the has was really mean and grouchy!" Is it really that difficult to rake hay, Nancy? How do you think I feel, mister? Okay, so. Nancy's first week of work was six days of complete failure. What does she have to show for it? A slight increase in stats! If you compare this screenshot to the previous one, you'll notice that Nancy's Strength and Constitution have gone up, but her Refinement and Charisma have gone down. It's a good start, right? (Say right, guys. We don't wanna make Nancy cry.) So that's how this game works. We've got all of January to work with, but we can only assign Nancy three things on her schedule. We will also be buying some things from the stores and speaking with her a bit more next update. I'll take any and all suggestions, up to and including having her stab poor innocent monsters. Until next time (which I promise will not be in two months), we part with Nancy for a time... |

Hee hee, "Lucifon".
I find these stats oddly fascinating. It's just such a weird jumble of ideas. "Housework Reputation"? It looks like she could use some art lessons. Might even help out that lacking Refinement and Charisma. Also, there's a certain artistry in weapons of war, so maybe she'll learn something by evaluating her potential purchases there. Edit: Kalir has a good idea. Actually, I don't know quite what his idea is, but I'm behind it all the way. |

We need a goal. We can't just go around deciding on how we're to ruin this girl's life without knowing what ending to shoot for.
The way I see it, we've got three real options. We can actually do what the title says and make a princess, where she will become either the queen or the royal concubine, or we can shoot even higher and watch as our little Nancy grows up to be the lord of darkness. I think the choice is obvious. Last edited by Bongo; 01-29-2011 at 01:43 AM. |

I am deathly curious what the church job entails. Is this a Cemetery Man kind of thing, or does she just tell people to say some Hail Marys, or what?

It's just cleaning up. Low pay, but also low stress, and you can't argue with the stat improvements.

No classes, make her work first, school's expensive!
Since the farm went so badly, go for the inn. Oh, and since it's January... do something special. |

Since many of these suggestions are basically the path the SomethingAwful LP of this game took, I'm gonna say we steer clear of making her evil, if nothing else.

Babysit! Nothing could possibly go badly there.

Really, I'm just voting for that because it's the one ending I don't remember from the SALP, but maybe it was in there.... |

Bo-ring. If I wanted to read a SomethingAwful LP I would just slam my head into the wall a few times.

Perhaps our goal should be to marry her off then.
To a dragon, the help, ourselves, or maybe God if that is even a possibility? That housework reputation needs some, err... work. To the Inn! |

We should make the most pious, moral, perfect, god-fearing Nancypants imaginable.

The former does unlock once Nancy's old enough for spooky jobs but, as said, the church job is just cleanup. Still sounds like good prep though! I say church work and theology class - we'll have such a nice, moral little girl.

I'm torn between reading the spoilers so that I can vote for a path, and just letting stuff happen and be utterly surprised how awful you all are.

Can we make her a Warrior Whore? I want to make the fantasy version of this lovely lady.

Let's make her the Intermediary between God and Man. Ship her off to the nunnery and don't let her come back til she shines like the Light of God.
And I mean a real nunnery, not a Shakespearean Brothel. And no Nunsploitation mess, either! That or Science. |
