I wondered if anyone would catch that!

And I vote Rauru's Ruins, just because.

Since Sheik's Hideout is apparently the best dungeon in the game, and you should save the best for last, I vote for Rauru's Ruins.

I was about to post this very thing, but then you had to go and be awesome and have the same thought! But, then BEAT had to be awesome and announce that was his intention all along. I am gleeful.

Another for Rauru's Ruins.

Btw, those eye-lasers only fire when you face them, right? That dungeon's slightly less of a putrid mess of chaos and frustration if I'm remembering that properly. But if not, that place is just disgusting. -er.

That's the way they work in the original LTTP because that's the way sane people think they should work. If I recall correctly from previous videos, Parallel Worlds is using a super special custom version that fires continuously no matter what you do.
I didn't watch this one yet. ._.

Also, on the topic of Nintendo putting only one of something in a game, what stuck with me my second play through of Ocarina of Time was that the opening scene with Link sitting on the bed, kicking his feet while listening to Navi's story is the only time when you see that animation. Someone spent a good deal of time trying to make Link's playful kicking of his feet look nice, and that is the only time anybody will see it and they will probably be ignoring it for the opening story. I always liked those little touches.

There seems to be a lot of that kind of thing in well-designed/written anything in general. I feel like I've read this exact same comment about a movie somewhere.

Moral of the story: The best videogames are made with love.

No one except the rumor mills.

On a totally unrelated note, I hear that if you use Cojiro in midair when jumping over the back of the altar in the Temple of Time, you can get to the Light Temple.

I heard in Mega Man X if you have full bars and all the E-tanks and subweapons if you ride the cart in Armored Armadillo's stage to the end, grab the hidden capsule and jump into the pit five times in a row you can get Ryu's Hadouken BUT YOU HAVE TO DO IT PERFECTLY.

But it's not. The real trigger for the hadouken capsule is touching a rather large detection box around the spot in question five times, with or without full equipment, and without necessarily having to suicide. Of course, you need to bring full equipment on the fifth visit to trigger the capsule. But then again it wouldn't be as fun if we looked at all of these with critical adult eyes.

It is hilarious that they chose an unlock sequence that sounds like the sort of thing that people make up in playgrounds, though. I hope more games don't do that, though, or we'd have no idea if rumoured cheats are true or not...

I actually took some time this weekend to read this thing in full. You know, instead of writing it or being in videos about it

From this I have learned two things!

One: Garrison's work is uniformly excellent!
Two: What kind of monster contributes to a work without even taking basic steps to familiarize himself with it oh god I'm a monster.

I think Garrison said that he recorded the call, so people might not miss out on all of the talking.

Okay, let's have some random thoughts on this:

It was a lot of fun to get a bunch of people together and talk about this horrible little game and eventually not talk about it. I had a lot of fun, and I think I want to make this a weekly a thing. For right now, I'm thinking Wednesdays, but due to the wild variations in my schedule, I just don't know.

I do have the entire call recorded, but I don't know if I'm going to make it available to people. After I stopped for the night, I actually went back and listened and it's just too damned hard to follow. When we were talking about the game, it was specific enough that someone who was only listening would be completely lost. When we had the skype party with like ten people, there were too many people talking over eachother for it to be really entertaining.

Whenever I do decide to do this again and finish the second quest, I think I'm going to put a hard limit on how many people we have in the call. Don't get me wrong, I had a blast during the Skype party times, but the software I'm using to stream my mic got hella choppy. So while you guys could hear me perfectly, people watching the stream heard me crackling like mad.

I know I missed out on recording the stream for archival purposes, but should I record the next couple times?

Also, the Second Quest is only going to be another stream or two, which means that as far as Gamingson is concerned, I'm done with Parallel Worlds. Obviously since it isn't going to be Parallel Worlds related, it probably doesn't belong in my LP for much longer. So what should I do here guys? Should I petition for a streaming thread in the LP subforum or should I make a topic in general gaming once the time comes? I honestly don't know how I should handle this if it becomes a regular thing.

If and when this does become a regular thing, you guys should probably shoot me so suggestions for games to play. Pretty much anything that can be windowed should be okay, but for now I want to stick with older emulated games. Nodal said he would play through Toejam and Earl with me, so that'll probably be the next thing.

So I don't know, anyone have any thoughts?

A thread for getting together to skype while you stream stuff sounds cool, and I think it would go into Hardcore Awesome Forever just fine.

I think someone floated the idea that we could play Four Swords together online? If someone makes that happen I would be a very happy boy.

As much as I like watching streams (and I do!), I can't keep up with these and I'd like to see this finished off in video form at least.
