The hammer also requires you to get up close and personal, and I always preferred the safety of throwing bombs from a distance.

You want to know something even worse? You can use bombs on the final boss of link's awakening. Yes, the final final boss, with the arms, that you either arrow or boomerang.

That was delightful. I really wish they would just start throwing a spare Moldorm into every boss fight at this point. Moldorm's should just wander overworld.
Anyways, Darunia next. Just watching the dungeon's in this game is stressing me out. Also, I always used bombs on that boss as well. I always saw the hammer as more of a, "In case you run out of bombs," alternative. Last edited by Elements; 02-17-2011 at 11:04 AM. |

Do Bomb-Arrows work? Because they sound like the secret best solution. To everything.

But... the hammer is in that same dungeon! You're supposed to use items from the dungeon on the boss!

Thieves' Town, Ice Palace, Misery Mire, Turtle Rock, and Ganon's Tower say Hi.

Psh, those are mostly passive upgrades like armor or lifting. Those don't count!

Would there be any way to do a Zelda-vania-oid game without it being annoying? I feel like the items and their usefulness need to be spread out a lot more. |

So uhhhhh, I might just be overbooked for commentary. Anyone who's still interested in joining me in paralllel worlds times, let me know so I can plan accordingly. Please and thankyou

Hell, even in the dungeons in the Light Word you only really used the dungeon item on the boss in the Eastern Palace. And even then, on my first run I ran out of Arrows against the Armos Knights (my aiming was fail) and I had to resort to finishing them off with the Boomerang. I wonder how many newer players who only got into the series post-Ocarina (or, hell, post-Link's Awakening) went back to LttP and got confused when they tried to figure out some way to use the Moon Pearl against Moldorm or whatever. |

That sort of also goes along with the de-emphasizing of combat in recent games - it's rarer to have a straight-up brawl like the Moldorm fight in LttP, just, as, say, it's rare to fight more than a couple dozen enemies in a single dungeon in the DS games.

I'm'a just keep voting for Darunia 'til it wins.

They... either don't work or don't do as much damage as regular arrows. The only thing I can remember is that using them is a bad idea. At least standalone bombs theoretically find a use if you run out of arrows. >_>

Now i need to check if you're right about Misery Mire. Seems possible that the fireballs from the cane could damage the boss.

I spent an afternoon this past weekend reading through this thread and watching all of your PW videos, and wow. You've put in an awful lot of work for a fan game!
The lousy fanfic accompanying the lousy fan game is fun! I've enjoyed the videos more because I can see how the game flows from screen to screen. Perhaps it is because I'm not as familiar with the original as I ought to be (having gotten to the dark world and stopped there, once, several years ago), but the screen caps are a little hard to follow. The true awesomefulness of the disco dungeon, Saria's maze, and various palette horror don't come to searing light in the screen caps. Parallel Worlds itself seems to have a flow of sorts (although it sounds like a lot of this can be skipped entirely?), but almost everything else is nonsensical. My favorite things are the fire sticks in the ice dungeon and in the forest, the flying floor tiles everywhere including underwater, and the Beam statues shooting you from tables on the floor below. The guest spots have been great. Dart Zaider has a nice voice! Sorry this is long, but I'm all caught up now. Looking forward (???) to more. |

Garrison I'm sure you already know this but I'm very much looking forward to my next guest spot. So by all means, plan accordingly.

Hey Garrison, I'm not sure if you had saved a spot for me or not, but I'd still very much like to guest sometime!

Take your time, no person should have to go through the horrors you are going through, but if you are, and for our entertainment, you might as well be relaxed and refreshed.

I've had people mention the LP a few times in the past couple weeks and I just wanted to let people know that it isn't abandoned, just on a bit of a hiatus. Between schoolwork and a part-time job, it was kind of hard to keep up beforehand. To make matters worse, I've been having panic attacks more and more frequently, so I kind of want to take some things off my plate. Right now, I've got two major papers to write in the next month and then school is pretty much over for the semester. So for now, yeah, Parallel Worlds is on hiatus, but I'm more than likely going to pick this sucker back up in early April and bring you the suffering that I'm sure I deserve.
Also, this doesn't effect Zelda II in June. |

I think everyone who's been following this LP so far would agree that you should take a good, long rest from it.
Good luck with your schoolwork, and I hope you feel better soon. |

Okay, so here's the thing guys. I lost the LP.
Earlier this morning, my computer decided that it didn't want boot and whatever was wrong with it was outside of my scope. So I've pretty much lost everything I had going. This isn't the end of the world, however, just a possible delay. I actually have the screenshots taken and the video recorded for the next update (though my wonderful commentary track with Beat was lost), so I'll probably finish from there. After that, I guess I have to replay the game again and get caught up with where I was before. I think I may still have a save on the trusty old laptop, so hopefully it'd only be three dungeons I'd have to replay. Hopefully I'll get all this sorted out in the next couple days. I'd still like to update by Friday if at all possible. Thanks for your patience, y'all. |

You are a man of sheer wonder.
Running through most of the dungeons twice? I can't wait till the next update, gods speed! |

The suffering this game is determined to subject you to is simply inhuman.
But anyways just let me know when you want to re-record. |

A lesser man would have given up right there.
Truly, Garrison is a manly man. That's twice the man, for those keeping score. |

Considering what I've seen so far, I'd venture to guess that Euclid programmed "complete computer failure" as a feature of the game.
