  5. Either way there's still only one thing that you can "buy".
  6. Something old (or classic, if you prefer).
  7. Something new (that's similar to an old thing).
  8. Something borrowed (from the enemies).
  9. Something blue (or green or red or yellow).
  10. You're a one man wrecking crew - just like old times.
  11. Men on (or in) the moon.
  12. A little bit better than its predecessor(s).
  13. Contains at least one of my favorite boss fights.
  14. You can switch things up. (In more ways than one. But only one way more than its immediate predecessor.)
  15. Are you in the mood for something sweet?
  16. If you aren't then you still have options.
  17. This time it's not just a dream.
  18. And play time is over.
  19. You're probably going to have to get your feet wet.
  20. So you might want to use a floatation device
  21. I ain't 'fraid of no ghost.
  22. But that probably doesn't justify invading their homes...
  23. My kingdom for a horse.
  24. And what can a horse pull? A cart. (But that doesn't actually have anything to do with the gameplay.)

1. Mario and Luigi battle Bowser and the Koopalings (who may or may not be his kids based on the ever-changing nature of official canon).

2. You take care of Yoshi eggs from each world and can raise Baby / Mini Yoshi's on the Star Road.

3. Dragon Coins - each one is with more points and you only need 5 to get a 1-Up
4. But the original coins are still in the game and give you a (#5) 1-Up

#6-9 refers to power ups and weapons.
Old: mushroom and Fire flower
New: cape (which is like the leaf/raccoon tail from 3)
Borrowed: You can get a cape or shells by stomping enemies
Blue: Koopa shell colors (old and new)

10. Mario was in the game Wrecking Crew and he destroys blocks and the castles at the end of each world.

11. The rare 3-Up moon
12. 8 bits better than the NES games.
13. It has 2 - Big Boo and Reznor Rhinos

14. P-Switches are back from 3 but World added the Switch Palaces.

15. You've got Donut Plains, Vanilla Dome, Soda Lake, Cookie Mountain and Chocolate Island. (Yoshi also gets berries.)

16. There's Butter Bridge and Cheese Bridge. And the mushrooms. (I guess.)
And Yoshi has a plethora of options but I do question how those taste. And that is a disturbing road that I don't want to travel down...

#17-18: This isn't SMB 2 (US) or 3.

#19&20: It's a Mario game so of course there are going to be water levels. But now you can swim better while holding an item.

21&22: World added the Ghost Houses to Mario canon.

23&25: Mario gains his faithful steed, companion and former babysitter (after the retroactive canon of this game's sequel/prequel) with the introduction of Yoshi.

24: This is a cartridge based game.

26. Monty Mole and the shades wearing Mega Mole enemies.

27. This was a (if not the) launch title for the SNES.

28. World came out after 3 (but maybe the clue should have said B3).
