1) You should probably just guess a television show title.
2) You get to play one of four characters, one of whom showed up for like one episode at this point.
3) Set between seasons 1 and 2.
4) In the portable versions of the game the bad guy is OK. In the regular one... I guess the main character is a killer, then.
5) So you fight... regular wolves? Surely... something-or-other wolves? Nope. Just wolves. This place is weird.

Yep.

1) You should probably just guess a television show title.
I mean, it's not like as a game it's particularly popular or memorable.
2) You get to play one of four characters, one of whom showed up for like one episode at this point.
All your favourite characters: Aang, Katara, Sokka and... Haru? I guess they were desperate for an Earth-Bender and wasn't ready for Toph. Oh, and I missed pointing out you can also play the bat-lemur whose name escapes me.
3) Set between seasons 1 and 2.
That's why no Toph.
4) In the portable versions of the game the bad guy is OK. In the regular one... I guess the main character is a killer, then.

Aang goes into the Avatar State at the end which buries the main villain in rubble. He is not shown to be alive but he survives in the DS game.
5) So you fight... regular wolves? Surely... something-or-other wolves? Nope. Just wolves. This place is weird.

Not very creative with some of their enemy choices.

1) The protagonist looks quite patriotic.
2) Mounting weapons like that on walking robots struck someone as a responsible thing to make.

3) And of COURSE the robots need to be taken down, and of COURSE they send in a single person to do it.

Koudelka

... Much as I love both that game and your confidence, I don't recall there being any robots.

5) In the interest of abdicating my clue-giving duties sooner, let me throw out the big one that the experience doesn't feel especially -vania.

Metroid Dread
Correct!

1) The protagonist looks quite patriotic. Samus starts off decked out in red white and blue.
2) Mounting weapons like that on walking robots struck someone as a responsible thing to make. I mean a little face spike shouldn't be that deadly but it's a one-hit kill.
3) And of COURSE the robots need to be taken down, and of COURSE they send in a single person to do it. Admittedly this is, like, any game.
4) And of COURSE that person can't stroll in all fully kitted out and has to procure equipment on site. I kinda wish we didn't have all these in-story power-downs. Strap those boots on tighter Samus.
5) In the interest of abdicating my clue-giving duties sooner, let me throw out the big one that the experience doesn't feel especially -vania. Being just a Metroid. And it kinda feels more linear than most too, I guess.

Olli

(he/him)
1) Where are all the other humans?
2) Well, you might have a co-op buddy along - and the internet is filled with other human players, too. But human NPCs? Nope.

3) Despite this, there's no lack of friendly company

4) What do you mean you can't just go to sleep in your bed and wake up next morning?
