Somehow I'm very late to the party on this, but I'd just like to register my absolute shock and dismay that when they said they had a mode to update the boss battles to something more modern apparently they meant the SECOND HALVES of the boss battles!? My jaw was just absolutely on the floor the first time someone's head didn't come off and move in a very simple pattern.
Also I can't believe I finished this repeatedly as a kid on 3 lives. Where to save a staff to skip past that underwater spike room is wedged as deeply into my brain as my phone number from when I was 10, I swear.
A year ago this week, I took it on myself to learn how to play kaizo Super Mario World hacks. Tonight, I'm going to do a little retrospective for my one-year kaizoversary! I'll be going back to my favorite games, replaying a few notorious levels and I might even squeeze in a quick speedrun while I'm at it.
