Retronauts

Based on the episode description and me not remembering show names, I thought they were going to talk about Code Monkeys. That’s a shitty cartoon about video games in the mid-aughts that I actually did watch somewhat regularly.

Sonic CD episode was great, but honestly I do kind of want a level by level 10 hour podcast of Sonic CD because as much as I've come to like that game, I really would like to hear specifics about the level design that don't always vibe with me (Wacky Workbench being a level I find kind of annoying, for one). Weirdly, I really like the water level in Sonic CD kind of a lot lol

It got me to give it a fair shake for the first time since it maybe came out on PS3? Abusing the hell out of save states to find all the places to time travel but I’m loving it.

I could listen to Stuart Gipp and the English 🇬🇧 crew of Retronauts discuss anything.

I have next to no love or nostalgia for Sonic and I love the Sonic episodes. I also like the old Sonic episodes of GFW Live.

It's a great crew. The way Dave Bulmer hit "and also, there's a SONG" about the Sonic CD intro was funny as hell lmao (and that's not even touching on his Mac Emulation joke lol)

If you haven't already, @Voncaster, Shaymay has a bunch of fantastic videos on Youtube under the name shoogles. Can't recommend them enough.

The England Crew and the Nadia episodes are what has kept me on the Patreon. The very rare Ray Barnholt episode is also a treat.

I'll check it out. Thanks for the recommend.

I also really love the episode on Tales, Wolf Team and tri-Ace. That is another episode that I have no familiarity with other than one tri-Ace game (Resonance of Fate), but I have it bookmarked and will re-listen to it from time to time.

I also can't remember which computer system it was, but I love this joke from Stuart:

There was a time when the Amiga* was the best computer.

Agreed. That time was from when it was released until now.

*Amiga, Commedore 64, Amstrad?

oh shit Dave Bulmer and our very own Stuart Gipp are on a BRITISH version of Retronauts...? That may be enough to entice me back in
