Redactle, the daily ████████-█████ ████████ puzzle

I didn't even realize the original site was still working. Did the owner come back or did other people take it over?

Anyway, Redactle Unlimited was the same result but at least once we figured out the tricky part of the word it did take our result.

So I just beat my record for fewest guesses (for a non-spoiled article) with 5 guesses today. (Accuracy was only 60% though.)

Comment about today's article that has a bit of a spoiler / hint:
Today's article would fit better later in the year.

Got today's in 2/2, 100%. Maybe I was lucky, but I just gleaned one key word ( cat ) right away and then went straight to the answer. I guess that ties with 3/3 for a two-worder, but by the numbers this is almost certainly my best ever.
The same thing happened to me today.

Catching up after vacation and I got puzzle 924 (Trinidad and Tobago) in one! (Well, technically two, but y'know.)

Yeah that was fun. Got it in 12. Guessed game at 8 which I wasn't completely confident in but then we were going to get it.
....I don't think we saw the same puzzle (somehow??) The one I was talking about had the wonderfully cryptic title of "AT&T" formatted exactly like that.

Ooh, I just clicked back to 951 and they must have fixed it by switching in a different puzzle! Good to know they're on top of stuff like that.

The new puzzle is fun too, though! I got it in 22, but have no idea how long it would have taken me had I not inadvertently read your spoiler.

I’m not playing redactle regularly any more but I pop in and out. I got today’s in three guesses, which isn’t bad when it’s three words. Should have tried the whole thing in one guess, not sure if it lets you do that.

Took me 20, but 1001 I got in only 19. It's pretty rad how the date and number lined up, this whole year will count the days up from 1001 to 1365.

I got today’s five words in my first five guesses - World War I appears pretty regularly on Wikipedia and has fairly distinct word sizes so I was pretty sure that was the bit in brackets, and from there it wasn’t too hard to figure it was either the eastern or western front. There was a bit in the text that looked like it might have had the battles of the Somme and Passchendaele and from there I got it.

Much better than my attempt at #1004 a couple days ago, which I figured was something medical but spent way too long going down the rabbit hole of HIV and other infections before figuring out it was circumcision. I think playing on a phone where it’s hard to see the size and shape of the article (and whether the angle you’re pursuing only appears in a small portion of the text) can be a bit of a disadvantage.

I had similar experiences - I got that one in 9 guesses instead of acing it in five, but the second puzzle you mention took me 140 and I used all my hints. Win some, lose some!

And yeah, this is one I couldn't really imagine trying to play on a phone. It's just too....big.

I got todays in 13, which didn’t feel that impressive considering I’m Australian. The key to it for me was that the word ”behind”, which is what it’s called when your shot at goal misses but is close enough and is worth one point to a goal’s six, wasn’t redacted.

Haven't done much of this in a long time, but got 6/7 right to get today's answer. I think that's the fastest I've gotten one.

Took my first shot at this in a while and got the two words on my first two guesses. I thought it was something political, figured out revolution has ten letters, and then just had to figure out which of those would fit in five letters.

I got today’s in one, a big step up from yesterday when I got the third word but was never going to get the two proper nouns before it. It’s nice to figure it out, and I did pretty quickly, but also as an Australian I should not know that Boston is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Massachusetts. What has that got to do with me?
