Personally, I don't much care for the political opinions of crabs.
Greak Memories of Azur wins the hotly contested position of being the first game I mention this week by merit of being the first one I see! It is, for one thing, gorgeous, and for two things, a action-ier Lost Vikings. And I likes me a Lost Viking (and to a lesser extent, a Trine) and this looks spiffier than both of them put together!
Space Invaders: Invincible Collection is an old video game collection that is *just barely shy* of being the best of all conceivable Space Invaders releases; offering no fewer than 11 games in the series; and while, yes there's precious little to differentiate some of them, some of them are the creme-de-lacreme of space, and those invaders who live there; including The Majestic Twelve, Super Space Invaders 91 and Space Invaders Extreme. And they tossed in Arkanoid vs. Space Invaders too, because WHY NOT!
There is no Attack of the Lunar Loonies though, so they're just leaving money on the table.
Speaking of things seen before, despite the subtitle Swords and Souls: Neverseen is kind of one as well! It's a gussied up, for-money sequel to a popular Kongregate game! An RPG game, no less! And RPG game that "rewards player skill and juicy progression". Not like those other video games that complain about player skill and offer dry and dusty progression! None of that here, no sir!
Monster Train is what I have been lead to understand is the top shelf new release this week; it being a deck builder that takes place on a Snow Piercer! Where you're controlling a bunch of NASTY CRITTERS tasked with smashing up through Heaven and beating up the Big Man himself! This release includes the Last Divinity DLC, which you would have to pay HARD CASH for if you were a chump who got it on some other platform. Jokes on you, chumps!
Mayhem Brawler is a beat-em-up that looked at Streets of Rage 4 and said "Well, I can do that too!". And jealousy is an understandable reaction to seeing Streets of Rage 4. Unlike THAT game, however, this one has a playable sharkman! And monster-peeps! And multiple endings! And branching Paths! So it's got its own whole thing going on, but when I look at the screenshots, all I can think is "That there is an enraged street".
And that's okay.
Thea 2: The Shattering is one of them video games that's actually supposed to trick you into thinking it's a board game! I'm on to you, Thea 2! Just because you're made of lightning doesn't mean you can't also be made of cardboard! Or at least that was the case with the first game, this one looks to be more Civilization-y, which would be far harder to make out of Meeples and dice rolling. So *I guess* it's okay that this is actually a video game, but I'm watching you, video game developers.
Arietta of Spirits is one of them Zeldos, but it's a Zeldo that makes you go "Awww" a whole bunch because it's chock full of emotions besides the exhilaration of chopping up a skeleton-boss to get a blue key. Take a gal what gets a spooky ghost sword and use it to chop up BAD GHOSTS and solve dungeon puzzles and the like.
I am reasonably sure that there's at least one skeleton boss you have to chop up and get a key from. I mean... everything about the trailer suggested that to me. But there's some other stuff too.
I guess that's everything.
