Well, not too many new games over the last month. That's because they were all being saved up for this week, apparently.
Cybershadow leads the pack this week, *partly* because it was the first thing I saw in the eShop, and mostly because it's the game I'm most excited for for the whole month of January! What we have here is a side-scrolling Ninja-em-up platformer much in the vein of your Ninjas, both Gaiden or Shadow. And maybe a bit of the NES Strider or Shatterhand if I'm interpreting the trailer correctly. It's immaterial though, since it looks great and I'm very excited to finish this thread so I can find out which! And this is a big thread so the wait is crushing me!
Don't worry, the 2 in the title isn't a clever ruse; Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends of the Secret Fairy is, in fact, a sequel to Atelier Ryza! I didn't actually play the first Ryza, but I did buy it after hearing endless praise heaped upon it from all corners and having a general like of JRPGs with crafting systems. Anyway, it's a JRPG where you're a travelling pharmacist who uses her skill at brewing tinctures to kill scoundrals. Like an anime Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman.
I didn't watch that show either.
Redout: Space Assault actually snuck out last week, but I didn't know about that at the time, because it was so sneaky! From the trailer, I thought it was an open world (space) shooter, like your Everspaces or Eve Onlines or whatnot. And I was into that, but it's actually Star Fox! Which I am even more into! It's a port of a mobile game, too! But it's purty lookin' and there ain't nearly enough Star Fox games on the Switch!
While I normally don't cover bundles in this thread, I should bring attention to Citizens Unite: Earth and Space, since Citizens of Earth isn't available on the Switch otherwise and, while flawed, that was a fun game! This is it and its sequel, Citizens of Space (which, like Atelier Ryza, I still haven't played but keep intending to). What we have here are a pair of light-hearted RPGs starring the Vice President trying to recruit concerned citizens to fight his battles for him. Unlike recent political figures you may remember, this one is a well meaning doofus with a heart of gold. Like if Jar Jar Binks had a strong chin and better PR.

Golden Force is a 2d throwback platformer with some vaguely Shantae-y visuals (albeit with less horny). Don't look too shabby, but, well... I JUST mentioned Cyber Shadow came out today so, can't say it picked the best week to join the 8-16 bit platformer party.
Now if you want a video game that isn't so much about bustin' robots or smashing monsters... well... you may want to consider a different hobby, your needs are not really being met with this one. But one that WILL satisfy aforesaid needs is Heavens Vault! A much applauded puzz-em-up adventure game about a gal with a head full of Old Dead Guy Books and her l'il ro-buddy trying to solve some Archeology Puzzles on a purdy space planet. Like Indiana Jones, except without the violence or nazis, but WITH aliens!
Except people like this Indiana Jones dealing with aliens!
Gods Will Fall, on the other hand, is a more Zelda-y or perhaps Dark Soul-ish ARPG where you've got a team of Celtic warriors who figure, well, why NOT kill some literal deities. They're being JERKS, afterall. It looks real appealing, I ain't gonna lie. I watched the trailer and then immediately added it to my wishlist.
Olija is a puzzlatformer with a harpoon! The trailer was stingy with details beyond the fact that you have a harpoon and have to use it to solve MURDER PUZZLES in order to escape a weird monster island that you're stuck on. But, honestly, a video game can get by on less enticing premises than "You have a harpoon and monsters to harpoon with it".
Disjunction is a sneaks-em-up RPG game set in the year: Cyber where you've got to guide a bunch of robomans through the city trying to uncover a conspiracy and not get caught and exploded by the future-cops. Kind of looks like a 2D Deus Ex, which isn't the worst idea I've heard. In fact, it sounds like a good idea!
And finally, speaking of cyborgs in the future confronted with death and destruction on all sides by an implacable enemy; we have Turrican Flashback, which eagle-brained readers may remember was out in the eShop for, like, 6 hours a month ago, and then it completely disappeared. Well, this time it's out FOR REAL! It's a collection of Turrican, Turrican 2, Mega Turrican and Super TUrrican! That's a LOT of euro-platformer shootin' about exploring huge maze like world maps and never ceasing to mashing the gun button because EVERYTHING ON THE SCREEN WANTS TO KILL YOU!
