I did, but it was the God of War: Ragnarok bundle, which is $60 more than the vanilla disc drive PS5.

Honestly, even playing upgraded PS4 games at high resolution and a solid 60 FPS feels pretty luxurious to me. God of War is still a really good-looking game, and seeing it run so smoothly is still quite impressive IMO. Same for thing for FFVII Remake.my ps5 is basically a super ps4 pro atm
Oh totally I think it works great as an enhanced ps4, most of my game time has been playing the ps4 versions of elden ring and ffxiv (both ps5 versions have performance issues in comparison) and I’m still happy with the system.Honestly, even playing upgraded PS4 games at high resolution and a solid 60 FPS feels pretty luxurious to me. That said, while I'm not sure the new Ratchet & Clank is the absolute best game on the PS5, it's still the one that felt the most next-gen to me. Looks incredible, runs pretty well even with some ray-tracing enabled, and they make great use of the SSD to mask load times.
the framerate often time drops to around 45fps, not the end of the world or anything, but the PS4 version via BC runs at a relatively locked 60fps but at a lower resolution with lower graphical settings. i personally haven't tried out the ps5 version myself, as saves weren't compatible between the two (you can only upgrade ps4 saves to ps5 once), so i decided to just stick to the ps4 version.I’m not sure what technical issues the PS5 version of Elden Ring is supposed to have, but I played 65 hours of it without incident. Ran pretty smoothly, IMO.
yeah the issues show up at 60fps, the game has frequent performance drops for seemingly no reason whatsoever, regardless of where you are in the world, or even your resolution, whereas the ps4 pro version via bc will run at 1440p/60 without issues.I wasn't aware of any issues with FFXIV - but then again I play at 1080p with 30FPS capped. I assume the issues show at 60FPS or at 4k?
Sony broke the news on Wednesday in a new PlayStation Blog post about upcoming PS Plus games. “We also wanted to provide an update on the PlayStation Plus Collection that has been offered as a benefit to PlayStation Plus members on PS5 since 2020,” read a paragraph buried at the end. “On May 9 the PlayStation Plus Collection will no longer be offered. If you haven’t redeemed the titles in this collection yet, you can still do so until May 9, which will enable you to access those titles even after this date for as long as you remain a PlayStation Plus member.”

when i wrote this i assumed ffxiv on ps5 was still rough. but going back to it, its totally fine now so, nevermind i guess.yeah the issues show up at 60fps, the game has frequent performance drops for seemingly no reason whatsoever, regardless of where you are in the world, or even your resolution, whereas the ps4 pro version via bc will run at 1440p/60 without issues.
Speaking of this here console, I was recently reminded that PS5 controllers have headphone jacks built into them.
I get a kick out of how aggressively they’ll pair with any Apple devices they can find. I was sitting next to a lady on a plane who probably tried to pair a set to her computer ten times but they kept popping up on my and presumably everyone else’s ipad instead. In my experience, airpods don't like to play nice with literally anything but other Apple devices.
Find the PS5 interface lowkey annoying in comparison to the PS4. Brings to mind UIs following touch UI design despite... not... using... touch.
