Chapter 10: The Green Light
"In my younger and more vulnerable years my father gave me some advice that I've been turning over in my mind ever since. ..." In this episode, Ganon loots the overworld, dies of laughing at a dumb boss, and finally reaches the green light. Last edited by McClain; 07-10-2013 at 02:40 PM. Reason: bonus points if you get the green light reference. |

So, could you hear the sound of everyone watching the video slapping their foreheads when you checked every wall but the right one on your first time through?
Nice to see you finally embraced the different-ness of the overworld though... and I'm still shocked at the steadily decreasing levels of BS from these bosses. |

Of course there are still four more dungeons that I'm sure could be chock full of more BS. edit: Also, what's up with Zelda Classic's item generation? You were getting clocks left and right. Last edited by Torzelbaum; 07-10-2013 at 10:55 PM. |

Loki or someone could explain it better, but I know the original Zelda has some pretty complicated (for the time) item tables. I have a feeling ZC is more of a straight up dice roll, which makes it a lot easier for the RNG to bless or screw you.

I think nowadays you can change the item drop tables in Zelda Classic anyway.

Honestly, I find the rooms with 20 wizrobes hysterical. Since they end up occupying the same space it's not really any harder than just having like, 3 of'em, and there's some inherent ridiculousness.

I'm still bracing for the rooms with multiple blue ones. And darknuts. And 15 fireball statues. And spike traps. Someone on a youtube comment implied that finally getting the boomerang would be helpful in the next dungeon. I have no idea what that could mean, since most harder enemies are immune. Except likelikes. You can stun them. Dear god how many likelikes could they put in a single room? |

Now, with the technical limitations of the NES, probably only around 15. |

Not an NES, though! Or even a ROM-hack, technically. Zelda Classic plays by its own rules.

Nope. I'm pretty sure the most enemies the NES ever had on a single screen was 8. ZC can let you have 10 when you're setting enemies in the editor, and if you fiddle with a few variables with tribble enemies, you can potentially create foes that spawn endless copies of themselves. I've tested it and the room can get CROWDED.

At least you don't have to worry about Death Knight Darknuts.

Apparently! Is he like a big deal or something? I noticed he's LPed this and lots of other ZC stuff, so I figured he's in the community and/or designs quests. |

So this thread has made me morbidly curious enough to check this here Zelda Classic thing out, and I have noticed a couple nasty points of deviation from the real game:
The real Link turns on a dime and drifts diagonally back into grid alignment as you hold a direction, where here you kinda walk back to the nearest half-space, which can leave you you off-center when trying to push things/get through doors, and keep you from turning in time to block shots. There's at least one room on the overworld with a rocky outcropping you're supposed to be able to walk through which is now solid, and can leave you stuck in it during screen transitions. |

I know! Bonding with my son over LPs of classic gaming is a great experience. He's a huge Brickroad and big Raocow fan.
P.S. I see what you're doing there |

So the question is... what do you have left to find on the overworld at this point?
|

I'm honestly not sure. It's possible they hid an item somewhere that I'm not expecting, like a shop with a Red Candle or something nutty, but I'm pretty sure I've gotten everything. I've at least gotten or know the location of everything that's normally on the overworld.

yep! I found that WAY early when I was thinking Level 3 was going to be in death mountain because I misinterpreted a hint.

The really sad thing is that the retarded Manhandla wasn't made for this quest.
It was a real thing that already existed. |
