Getting a pretty clear vibe on this latest vote. On the brightside, that will make dealing with a certain night hag in the future easier!

Speculation Time:

In this update, we find out that Morte has been tagging along with the Nameless One because he feels an immense amount of guilt for his past actions, when he was still a person (or humanoid at least). The game never says outright what Morte's crime was; certainly, the Nameless One is immortal, so merely killing him once shouldn't cause our wisecracking skull to hang around so much, should it?

Small spoilers, but nothing too offensive:

Morte says he doesn't remember what exactly he did to the Nameless One to give him such remorse, but there's a potential hint in an earlier dialogue in the game. If you remember the previous update, Morte was asked to tell a story to Yves, the story-telling prostitute. Here it is again if you missed it:

He'd say down for a moment to rest his weary legs, and suddenly looked up to see an elderly woman before him. She grinned toothlessly and with a cackle, spoke: 'Now your *third* wish. What will it be?'

'Third wish?' The man was baffled. 'How can it be a third wish if I hadn't had a first and second wish?'

'You've had two wishes already,' the hag said, 'but your second wish was for me to return everything to the way it was before you had made your first wish. That's why you remember nothing; because everything is the way it was before you made any wishes.' She cackled at the poor berk. 'So it is that you have one wish left.'

'All right,' said the man, 'I don't believe this, but there's no harm in wishing. I wish to know who I am.'

'Funny,' said the old woman as granted his wish and disappeared forever. 'That was your first wish.'
We know that the cause of the Nameless One's immortality was a result of the Night Hag, Ravel Puzzlewell. We also know that the price of this immortality seems to be the Nameless One's memory. The story above, essentially, is of a man who gains something, then immediately regrets it, but upon forgetting it immediately asks for it again, without the ability to reverse his decision (as it's his third wish).

The fan theory then is that Morte is the one responsible for introducing the Nameless One (well, before he really *was* the Nameless One) to Ravel Puzzlewell, and that's why he feels so much guilt, guilt to such a degree that he's willing to stick by a man who periodically loses his mind. In other words, Morte didn't kill the Nameless One, but his former self led him to his current situation.

Is it true? Who knows! This game is very good at leaving some amount of mystery!

You guys are so uncomfortable around women you can't even date them in a video game!

Show Annah a good time!

Your other relationships seem to have ended poorly so don't date either of them. Unless you hate one of them - then date that one.

I think you should go for Annah, but wait until you meet Ravel first.

I vote for Dating Annah!

I'm really enjoying this LP. Planescape is one of those games that I actually enjoy watching as an LP as opposed to playing it (the fact that you present the text in a manner that's much more pleasing to the eye helps as well).

The only thing I'm missing out on is the theme music, but I can just let it play via YouTube while reading the updates!
