Ever since I started using GoG, this was the series I kept looking for over, and over, and over, and over.
I'm glad I can finally get these again! |

Make that four games for $10. Good luck getting QFG5 working. Sigh, at some point games made for earlier versions of Windows will have to come bundled with virtual machines. Shame the DOS era didn't last longer.

I couldn't get QfG5 working at the time, either. History proved that not to be such a bad thing.

Trials of the Forbidden City!
We last left Garcon trapped in a forbidden city, not quite sure how he got there and why he feels compelled to help Ad-Avis:
Well, first thing: this darkness won't do at all! Quote:
Now that Perseii can see he moves towards the right: jumping onto small, quickly moving logs makes sense, right? As soon as Jackson is across the river he notices that hole on the far wall: As he get's closer: Weird thing is that this wind prevents Garon from getting up the stairs; it keeps sucking him back. What is he going to do? Quote:

Trials of the Forbidden City, cont'd!
Perseii carefully picks his way through the lava field trying to avoid the spurting fire and flames Jackson uses the magic rope to get down to the area below: |

Forbidden City?! When do we get to the Forboding part?
And with that the doors opens! Out of curiousity Garon grabs for a few coins, no one will notice, right? "OH, GODDESS IT BURNS!" *rewind* "New plan, just get through the room and don't touch anything" |

This Can't be a Good Idea...
Welp, that's it thanks for joining me for this Let's Play of QfG2! The Hero dies in a cave and Ad Avis releases the Djinn Iblis who conquers the world! Wait! what's this? |

Rasier or Bust!

Garon is in the Palace plaza already so he goes into sneak and then heads down to the palace entrance! Quote:
(You're just going to have to trust that Perseii and I totally killed that eunuch! Quote:
Okay! We're in! Mostly! As long as Talking Time stays up, you'll find out how this game ends next week! |

Huh. I didn't realize you could kill the eunuch. I thought you just had to be real good with your rope climbing timing. Also, why the heck did you wish for Parry? You're never going to use it!

Clearly he's gone mod with power.
ETA: I also can't believe that you can straight up kill the eunuch. It seems so... unheroic. |

Probably because I clicked the edit button instead of the reply to button... These mod powers move things around and I'm still getting used to it.
It's all fixed now. It was supposed to be a new post in reply-to him that looked like this: Quote:

The fighter just kicks everyone's asses. |

Woohoo, I've been waiting for this!
Darkness will lead you to a tomb: You will walk in fire earth water and air through temptation and last into despair and isolation Darkness will triump unless you stop the last light It's almost like they knew what was going to happen... It doesn't quite match up 100%, but it's still a nice touch that an almost throwaway comment from the start of the game could pay off like this in the end. |

Deaths not shown this update:
- Falling down the falls - Getting sucked into the hole - Getting brimstoned - Speaking the wrong name of power (IIRC) - Squandering all three wishes (my personal favorite) - Getting caught by the guards You can probably also wish for your own death. This is a very death-heavy section! |

Palace Infiltration
If you recall the servant of the young daughter of the Emir of Rasier who we helped saved said she'd tie a ribbon on the balcony showing Garcon where the harem is. For some reason she seemed to think Perseii would be safe there... We'll that was the ribbon and so Garon goes right:
(click to watch) These have got to be the worst Eunuchs ever! Jackson's got to get through the room though and through that hall to the north if he is going to have a chance at defeating Ad-Avis. First, we sneak and then hid behind the fountain Nawar will keep the one eunuch distracted, we still have to deal with the guy patrolling the northern end of the room, as soon as he turns around and heads back out of the room Garon shimmies over to the table: Ah, this djinni comes in handy! Warned me right as the Eunuch showed up, once he is gone: Perseii has got to get across and unlike one of his namesake's he doesn't have access to a flying horse! He does have a magic rope though! Oh, we've done this lots of times, should be easy! |

The World is Destroyed
"oh man! What a terrible vision of what will happen if I fail! best climb this rope now!" "I wonder...?" Quote:
"He doesn't look happy..." At this point Jackson has to throw daggers at Avis until he dies while ducking to avoid the firebolts the evil wizard will be throwing at him. Thankfully the djinni tells us when to duck. Also, this isn't a good angle to throw from we'll have to maneuver over to the next pillar, too! |

Creeping to Victory
Quote:
"Take that you ugly bastard!" "um, no! I have more daggers!" "AHAHahahaha! Did you see the look on his face as he plummetted to the ground? Priceless!" "What do you mean 'we?' I was the one doing all the work." |

The End
Garon breathes a sigh of relief. It's over he saved the twin cities of Shapier and Rasier! He briefly wonders how that Katta revolt is going? He's about to go back inside the palace, when:
That doesn't sound anything like the prophecy everyone else was quoting!? Don't these people write anything down? (click to watch) That is it! Thanks for watching/reading! Now that GOG.com has these games for sale you should all go buy them and have your own adventures! But, don't stop reading these Let's Plays either. Do both! Sometime before the end of the month, Wages of War! (Don't listen to what the end of QfG2 said! What does the game know about its sequels?!) |

Postscript: Drug use in QfG2
QfG2 has a debug mode that players can (ab)use all you have to do is type in:

I had to do that after the thief I imported mysteriously turned into a fighter: I started a new thief character and tweaked his stats and inventory until he matched.
Technically, you can skip the entirety of the game using the debug codes. Just relocate yourself to one of the last screens with some appropriate equipment and you can finish the game. |

No Hero left behind!
Great Let's Play, Falselogic. It was fun to relieve the game; this is the entry in the series that I remembered least (aside from V, which I never played). I really could only recall sneaking around Raseir and the genie's cave; the first half of the game was almost a complete blank to me. Well, except for the Intermission It's funny; at the time, I thought the EGA graphics were really primitive in comparison to the VGA remake of QfG I, but now I appreciate how evocative they can be. The game does a lot with just 16 colors. Maybe I should check out the series again on GOG.com |

The part at the end where everyone speaks for you is heartwarming and great and it makes me tear up just a little.
In the paladin ending, lion man also speaks for you. |

Ha ha, I love the bad ending in this game. I'm glad that they actually animated it, rather than just giving you a classic Sierra "game over" text box.
