Future so Bright He's Got to Wear Shades: Let's Play Quest for Glory 2: Trial by Fire

I am reading quite intently and enjoying it greatly. Though some of the puzzles I don't know if I'm missing something or it was hinted at earlier or you are just supposed to know these things.

If you ever find yourself confused about something please speak up so I can address them as they come up.

If you are talking about defeating the elementals, then you can find the answer on how to defeat all of them back during the hero's first meeting with Aziza when he asked them all about them.

If it is something else, let me know and I'll try to clear things up.

Just wanted to pipe in and say I've been reading along (quietly) since the QfG1 thread and really been enjoying it.

Honestly, QfG2 was never one of my favorites in the series, which contributes to my lack of comments, but it did have its moments. I enjoyed the elemental encounters and the WIT (and in an alternate dimension, the EOF) tests.

I am definitely looking forward to seeing 3 again, which is the one I remember the least. There's probably a good reason for that, but I'm sure it was better than 5 turned out.

this LP is my favorite currently active LP, and i read your updates atheistically.

I just haven't had the time to read your LP recently, but I'll hopefully have a chance this week, since this has been one of my favorite LPs.

Don't stop, don't stop! But it would be good if you could add some text or something to the images when they link to movies, it's not super clear the way things are right now.

Later that night while gr.. I mean practicing on his skills Garcoon takes on a pack of Jackalmen:



For the first time in the game he finally has enough magic,stamina, and health to kill them all:




He also harvests a few ghoul claws that night:



After thinning out the wildlife population Perseii returns to Shapier and his bed. The next morning:




That doesn't sound good! But, it doesn't sound that difficult either because Jackson has been whooping elementals all week! He heads to the Fountain Plaza:





Descriptive! Garcon will put this tart in her place, but first:



(fattening his wallet is always the highest priority)

Okay! Not let's get that watery minx!

Uh-oh, looks like Jackson got a little too close! Let's try that again:







"I'll never be thirsty again!"

With the elemental taken care of, and nothing else scheduled for the day Perseii decides to walk the streets of Shapier at random (and to pick some locks) when he camee to the Palace Plaza:




(I'm pretty sure that last detail is one we should remember!)

That evening Shameen has some news for Garcon:



"She totally wants me..."

After supper he goes to bed.



He knows Aziza is dying to see him but before that he does a little practicing... Jackson will have to be ready for anything! After fighting Uhura, casting magic at rocks in the desert, sneaking around the city, and other assorted tasks he heads for Aziza's





With the one thing he had to do out of the way Garcon returns to grinding and sleeping. The next morning, our last, in Shapier:



Perseii hits the town and the Katta come out in force to thank him for what he has done and what the hope he will do:

I'm pretty sure this is where we'd become a Paladin if we had bothered with it... Or maybe Rakeesh would just let us borrow his sword. I don't rightly recall...

Anyway, Rakeesh wants to fight us and Garcon is itching to stab the liontaur some:



Back at the inn:

Nah, you're made a Paladin during the ending, unless things are different for fighters. I've only played through as one once.

I'm not quite sure. Though I thought the fighter, at least, needs a flaming sword to complete the cave in Rasier?

Nah, that's what you have the lamp for, remember?

I'm going to be finding out real soon! My memory of the latter part of this game is surprisingly sparse.

Yeah, every character uses the lamp for light. The Fighter gets to borrow Rakeesh's sword to fight the Earth Elemental.

Ah, that was it!

That does it. I'm gonna download and play QFG through again, Paladin and Thief.

By the way, if you put on the xray glasses when a certain character disrobes behind a curtain in Raesir you see ... not a whole lot more, but you see ... something.

Yup, Yup and I'll be doing that! (Buge has been asking for it since we started)

Man, you don't "put the glasses on" before that character gets undressed. You wear them the whole game!

man, not getting my weekly update of this LP is giving me the shivers.

I've been busy converting all my LPs into html and hosting everything over at False(b)logic. Next week for sure.

I ran through QfG1 and started up a game of QfG2 but I ran into a weird glitch: my thief was imported as a fighter, but the only fighter-exclusive equipment he had was a shield!

Which versions of the two did you use?

VGA QfG1, EGA QfG2. This has never happened before, though.
