MM is my favorite Zelda game! Great start to the LP, I'm looking forward to more installments.

He also bowed out of Pokemon TCG, on account of not having more to say about the game than he did.

...but enough about this topic. How 'bout that Mask Salesman? Like Tanto, I was convinced he was going to betray me the first time I played through the game (and I'm still not certain giving the mask back to him in the ending was even the best thing to do...).

In my defense, Skies of Arcadia was delayed due to technical problems, not a lack of enthusiasm or laziness. I still do intend to finish it someday -- but for now I should probably stick to games that can be emulated.

I'll fully cop to not giving Poké TCG its due, though.

Reading this after going deep into the Jadusable/BEN Drowned saga is a very scary experience.

That is exactly what I had done before discovering this LP. My recommendation for anyone reading this comment: don't read them. Ever.

I've never noticed that a rolling jump actually takes you further. This might have to do with the fact that I always get the Bunny Hood as soon as possible, so I don't need it.

Link will always do those fancy flips off those stumps at the beginning, though, even if you just run off the edge. It's an impressive and important flourish that immediately lets the player know that this game's animation and raw graphics have actually advanced quite a bit since Ocarina.

It's not just a pond (or a river, even); it's the Laundry Pool. I like that this cozy little place serves a purpose, and all the better that it's tied to several of the game's memorable scenes.

Of course, the water in this particular passage is shallow enough that a Zora can just run through and hop back out without actually swimming. Link's current size can make a surprising difference sometimes.

I'm looking forward to following this LP! I hope you show off as many as you can of the optional little scenes you can experience just by following different townspeople at different times, under different circumstances (especially all the different way Anju's fate can lead, including finding her with an umbrella at the Laundry Pool, or finding her whole family holed up at the ranch on the Third Day).

What's the deal with that? I found a Youtube video of what looks like a hacked rom of MM with some creepypasta inserted. I couldn't be bothered to read it because of the random spacing, though.

It's a ghost story revolving around Majora's Mask, and the videos are just a supplement to the story itself. They're not going to do much for you if you're not reading it. It reminds me of that Pokemon Black story that made the rounds years ago. I'm a sucker for creepy stuff involving games.

It's an ARG about a guy who buys a haunted Majora's Mask Game.

As far as internet things about haunted video games go, it's pretty fun.

I am shocked at how many people haven't played this yet. Go play it, you won't regret it.

The rolling jump isn't needed but it helps a lot and it doesn't take too much work. Also, if you just do a normal jump with the bunny hood on it will be the same distance as a rolling jump.

Can you save the bomb saleswoman on the first night before you get the ocarina or is the deku scrub unable to hurt the thief?

The laundry pool is a great area in the game. It's so small but a lot happens there.

It does, nevertheless. I'll be pointing out a place you can't reach without it in the very next update, in fact.

The latter. You need cold, hard steel to succeed at this particular sidequest.

Of course, you could also use arrows... but that's not a recommended course of action for anyone who wants the Bomb Mask or the Bigger Bomb Bag, anyone who wants to see the Anju/Kafei subplot reach a resolution, or anyone who wants to go to their grave without blood on their hands. Again, more on this next update.

At the risk of ruining your LP, if people are interested in what's so god damn spooky start here and have fun and by that I mean have Majora's Mask ruined forever.

Default Loved Ocarina

I have never played this game, but, as you mentioned in your LP, Ocarina was a transcendent game for me. It was the first game I ever beat (very sad, I know as I was like 16 at the time), and the transformation to 3d blew my mind. I must have watched Darunia dance dozens of times. Anyway, this is all to say I am looking forward to this LP immensely. Thanks Tanto

I would contest the hell out of this, but fortunately I don't have to, because the LP will do it for me. it's actually 1/5 because of the deku scrubs and the powder keg

I'm the kind of Zelda player that usually likes the fighting and dungeon crawling more than the fetch quests and talking to weirdos in town but MM kind of turns this on its head. The fetch quests are great and the dungeons, especially Stone Tower, are tedious.

I disagree with this as well. What parts don't you like?

Stone Temple Tower is my favorite Zelda Dungeon in the whole series. I love the area at the base and the climb up to it as well. When I first played it, it blew my mind.

If you felt rushed by the clock did you ever use the inverted song of time? It gives you ample time to do anything you need to. Even without it, nothing in this game takes longer than a day to finish (besides dungeons). Even the huge epic stories are broken up into individual events. The problem I ran into was actually having to wait a lot unless you plan out your 3 days every single time.

Also, those faeries. Definitely my least favorite part of this game.

You're going to have to elaborate on this. I don't remember any part of this game "sucking armadillo dick". Okay, except for that hunt for the Zora eggs.

The whole forced opening trading sequence and all affiliated mini-games and subequests is pretty much the dictionary definition of armadillo dick.

I want a version of the game that starts me on Termina Field right from power-on.

I'll have to agree on that. I don't know if we're talking about the same place, but I was having an absolute blast with this game until I reached Ikana, then evereything between the Gibdo trading sequence to the end of the 4th dungeon annoyed me enough to almost completely reverse my opinion of the game.

I think what it comes down to is that the game gets more fun as you memorize it with multiple playthroughs. As fun as the Zora form is, the third dungeon nearly made me quit the first time I played it, but I actually enjoyed it last time. The fact that everything is timed both a cool idea and a mechanic that can royally screw you over if you don't already know what's up. For instance, I had no idea that you were supposed to beat the skulltula house by the ocean on the first day to get the best reward until I had already done it.

If I ever play this again I'll probably enjoy it more, since I'll have a better idea of how to get through the most annoying parts faster. However, nothing can make the Stone Tower section involving that statue song any less tedious. It may not actually take that long, but it's the point in the game where I most often say "fuck it, I'm done."

EDIT: I actually don't mind the beginning part at all. Clock Town and the way you interact with the people in it was what made the game fun for me.
