Ding ding ding!Angband
Morgoth is the big bad at the bottom of the dungeon.1. Your only quest is to kill the god of darkness.
Sauron, of Lord of the Rings fame, resides at 4950' (level 99) and must be defeated before you can proceed to the level with Morgoth2. The big baddie's first lieutenant is arguably more famous than his god-of-darkness boss
It's a roguelike. Your character gets a random backstory (based on race)3. Lot of stuff is randomly generated, including your background
Around that depth, monsters with dangerous elemental breath attacks become native.4. Around 1600', things get nasty
See above.5. Collecting a set of elemental resistances is necessary if you want to avoid being one-shotted
There's a lot of D&D stuff like spells, and of course the whole setting is based on Tolkien.6. Copyright violation? I d&dn't know what you're tolkien about.
Or you could get a bad feeling if a monster pit is present7. Hang around for long enough and you'll get a feeling if there's an artifact lying around on the level.
Angband means Iron Prison in some Tolkien language8. It's a prison of iron.
It's true! There are multiple implementations.9. You can use an automatic "borg" to play the game for you.
Yep, that's the answer.Mega Man X?
