That's it!
1. These characters sure looked different back then
I had Dr. Baldhead/Faust in mind for this at first, but Potemkin had a pretty drastic redesign later as well.
2. The summoning is still incomplete
In Zato's stage, there are three hooded figures floating over a pentagram. In Guilty Gear X, that stage now has a chained up giant who must have been summoned by them.
3. A console-exclusive fighting game
4. Until recently, that is. Still, it was never in arcades.
It only came out on the PlayStation originally, and was rereleased on modern platforms last year.
5. The main villain's gender was lost in translation
Justice is referred to as "he" in the English version, presumably because her gender wasn't specified in Japanese and the translators had to guess.
6. Touch of death combos? How about touch of double death?
Every character has an instant kill move that wins the whole game if it hits - both rounds.
7. More Queen references than a Yasumi Matsuno game
The main character is Sol Badguy, real name Frederick, with "ROCK YOU" on his headband. May is named after Brian May, as well.
8. You maniacs! You blew it up!
In Sol's stage, you can see the remains of the Statue of Liberty, like in Planet of the Apes.
