You could probably write an entire Dissertation on how Brooklyn 99's final season is at war with itself.
It knows it must die, but it dearly wants to live. It knows it's propaganda, but it can't admit to itself that all of it's characters are card carrying members of team bad guy.
It wants to acknowledge this, but it just doesn't have the heart. So we get this bizarre shambling thing that readily admits that all cops are bastards, but hopes we think highly of good old Jake and Amy and the gang anyway.
It's STRANGE to see a show do this. Every other cop show on TV dealt with the growing awareness of the insidious evil of police in America by just ignoring it or by going "Thank god we're different good cops who aren't like that."
